<The Red Crane>
- Main article: Chi-Ji
The trial of Chi-Ji is a test of hope. Uncertain of the future of his people, Emperor Shaohao sought out the great Red Crane. The Great Crane challenged Shaohao to find the hope within himself, and cast off his uncertainty. Once the Sha of Doubt was vanquished, the Emperor became a beacon of hope for his people. To pass the trial of the Crane, warriors must believe in hope, even in the darkest of days.

Chi-Ji is generally considered the third hardest of the four celestials, ahead of Niuzao but behind Yu'lon and Xuen. Only one tank is required. Move the boss away from the Firestorms he spawns. Twice during the encounter he will summon Children of Chi-Ji, small adds that run away from the boss and leave fire in their wake. They move at a moderate speed and can be easily dodged, though melee may want to move out of melee range while Chi-ji is channeling this as it is hard to dodge the Children that may spawn right on top of them. Melee dps should also interrupt Inspiring Song to prevent the boss from healing himself.
The Red Crane's most devastating ability is Blazing Song. He will summon a Beacon of Hope, a shining circle of yellow light, which reduces all damage taken. It is vital that the entire raid stand in this circle or they will most likely be killed by Blazing Song.
