Patch changes[]

  • Battle for Azeroth Patch 8.0.1 (2018-07-17): Converted from a rank 8 honor talent to a PvP talent. Renamed from Guard to Avert Harm. Stagger reduced from 30% to 20%.
  • Legion Hotfix (2018-02-26): Guard can no longer be applied to non-player targets such as pets and guardians.
  • Legion Patch 7.1.5 (2017-01-10): No longer provides an absorb, instead it allows the Monk to Stagger 30% of damage received by allies within 15 yards.
  • Legion Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): Changed to an honor talent. No longer increases self-healing done for the duration, but Guard will now also apply to the closest nearby ally within 10 yards. Absorption amount increased by 100%.
  • Mists of Pandaria Hotfix (2012-10-16):
    • Guard will no longer fade from the Monk when her Ox Statue applies Guard to another player.
    • Glyph of Guard will no longer prevent the Monk's Ox Statue from applying Guard to other players.
    • Skull Banner and Sanctuary of the Ox can now stack, and neither effect will overwrite the other.
    • The non-glyphed version of Guard will be cancelled should a Monk apply Glyph of Guard and cast the new version.
    • A Monk's existing Guard effect will now stack with Guard provided by other friendly Brewmaster Monks.
  • Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Added.
