The Niuzao Catacombs can be found underneath the Niuzao Temple on the big island off the western coast of Townlong Steppes. The catacombs are accessed via a path along the western edge of the island between the temple and the Fields of Niuzao pond.
The temple wardens were to keep the Sha of Fear contained, but failed in their task. It has since escaped to the Dread Wastes, infesting the mantid there and riling up the mantid of the Sra'thik Incursion northeast of the temple. The sha left behind Dreadlings, which have killed the Fear-Stricken Sentinels. Deep inside the catacombs is the Ghastly Confines, where the Dread Shadow can be found.
