- No. the only thing that would imply such was the AH being originaly located in ironforge only. Hardly evidence for it being the seat of power. I don't believe any one capital has the right to be called the seat of power for the alliance (Orgrimmar for the Horde is a different story) Stormwind is much closer to being the alliance equivilent of Orgrimmar. Also not that it nessesarly means anything but the hall of champions is located in Stormwind. From a Lore perspective Stormwind clearly takes that role as the largest city, and capital of the "main" race of the alliance.Warthok Talk Contribs 06:56, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

Aside from the previous single auction houses, Ironforge is the location of the Darkmoon shouter, Greatfather Winter, the Fishing Extravaganza announcer, Brewfest and the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj material stores. These are all hosted in Orgrimmar for Horde. I think this is mostly for practical reasons, as (BC cities aside) IF and Org are both the "central" cities logistically speaking. Lorewise however, Stormwind is without doubt the capital of the current Alliance.----

- Empty room. But before it was an empty room it was the stormwind AH. the AH was located there during beta before linked AHs didnt work out (Darnassus being on a diff server) and they were removed expcet for the one in IF. - What would you call the "seat of power for the alliance" if not Ironforge? Aside from ingame issues, lore wise the humans have pretty much had it as Stormwind is bathing in internal strife (Defias Brotherhood) in addition to the fact that half of the humans on the continent were swiped off not that long ago. Altough Ironforge also has it's own problems, none I'd say are as severe as what's going on with SW humans, Night Elves or the Draenei.. This is just my (un-educated?) opinion but I'd say Ironforge is pretty much all that stands and has stood for the Alliance for millennia. If it were to be conquered the Alliance in Eastern Kingdoms would fold like a house of cards. --RocketBrother (talk) 17:56, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
- Except the Alliance has only existed for little more than two decades. And Ironforge was not in on it from the begining only joining near the end of the second war after the human armies (along with a squadron of rangers and the wildhammers) liberated Ironforge from siege.
- Stormwind is undeniably the Alliance's seat of power. From an in-game perspective it's not quite as obvious, but from a lore perspective theirs no comparison. While ironforge is far more militaristic and defendable from siege, but Stormwind's population is ten times Ironforges. It is the seat of power of the leading race of the alliance and the most populuos race by far, the humans, with the largest standing armies. Yes there are problems such as the defias (a small pest) and Katrana, but Katrana chose stormwind because that is the place where she could do the Alliance the most harm. If there was any doubt before, Varian's return solidifies Stormwind as the Alliance's capital.Warthok Talk Contribs 18:27, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

Is the infobox image from one of the art of warcraft books? I ask because while browsing the fanart gallery on the blizzard site, I came across that same image. Sometimes people will upload images that aren't theirs, sometimes some people will draw copies of offical art, but I wanted to make sure that wasn't fan art.Tweak the Whacked (talk) 08:01, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

Ironforge in Alpha[]
Well, as we know in the lore Ironforge is a multi-tiered city but in game only appears as a single tier (unless you count old Ironforge as a tier. But in the alpha of World of WarCraft Ironforge included a second level but was considered to easy for players to get lost in so they changed it. Maybe this should be mentioned somewhere in the article? I'm not entirely sure if it would be appropriate but I thought I would bring it up here first. The second level was not exactly a complete tier but still a second level bring it closer to the mutli-tiered city it is supposed to be.
