Forums: Village pump → Common quality item tooltip color
(This topic is archived. Please do not edit this page!)

The color of common quality items listed inside a tooltip has problems in skins with dark text on light background.

A skin with dark text on a light background (Monaco or Monobook) will force the quality for a common item from the original white to black. Normally this is not a problem. But when a tooltip is shown, the background is dark gray, and the common item is still shown in black, making it almost invisible.

As popups for items often show the tooltip box, this problem is not limited to the item articles themselves.

Look at this example in a skin with white background to see the effect:

  • Click here to see this page with a dark background.
Inv misc note 01

The crafted item [Pumpkin Pie] and the ingredients [Honey], [Ripe Elwynn Pumpkin] and [Ripe Tirisfal Pumpkin] are practically invisible, and at the least unreadable.

I think we need a mechanism in the skin where the text for common quality items is shown as white in the tooltip context.

This problem may extend to other qualities which have their color adjusted for the skin.

Sorry for the delayed reaction. Dunno how this flew under the radar. It should now be fixed, modulo cache slowness. --k_d3 19:36, December 21, 2009 (UTC)
