The Wardens are a faction of elite night elven Watchers operating in the Broken Isles.
For some times, the Wardens worked from their base of operations, the Vault of the Wardens in Azsuna, to hunt down and neutralize (through imprisonment or summary execution) major threats to Azeroth's inhabitants. Captured foes were interned in the Wardens' stronghold on the Isle of the Watchers.
At the outset of their third invasion of Azeroth, the demonic Burning Legion targeted the Vault of the Wardens. With the aid of the defected Warden Cordana Felsong, the demons succeeded in overrunning the prison complex and and oust its defenders. The Wardens' leader, Maiev Shadowsong, was captured during the conflict and taken to Black Rook Hold.
Since then, the Wardens taken an active role in the War in the Broken Isles, where they are attempting to continue the duties of upholding justice and safeguarding the world's inhabitants. In Shadowsong's absence, Sira Moonwarden has taken up the mantle of leadership.[1]
The faction is known to possess towers across the Broken Isles, although in recent times they have been forced to abandon many of them. There are two in most Legion zones that serve as PvP targets.
History
