Level learned

Disengage is a hunter ability that causes the player to leap backward up to 13 yards (like a backwards [Blink]). It is learned at level 8 for Beast Mastery and Marksmanship, and available at level 45 as a talent for Survival.

  • Note that Disengage is not a PvP-only ability by any means. In heavy movement fights, the speed increase from disengaging can be invaluable. One example is jumping into a safe zone, or leaping over hazards.

  • One of the classically infamous hunter abilities, it can easily add additional mobs to a fight if an inexperienced hunter Disengages without checking their rear-view mirror.
  • If possible, jump right before you Disengage for an increased travel distance.
  • If Disengage is used at high places, hitting your  [Parachute Cloak] or other slow fall effect will extend the length of your flight by incredible amounts. If used against mobs, they will almost always drop combat and leash.
  • The leaping speed is 184%, so you will move faster than 150% flying mount for a very short time. The speed increase will remain if you Disengage over a ledge and use a slow fall effect.

  • Disengage is one of Greymane's basic abilities in Heroes of the Storm. It can only be used in worgen form, and in addition to rolling away, he shifts back into a human when using it.
