Right before the War of the Thorns, Ferryn was reassigned to Ashenvale as cover for the night elven forces that were heading south to counter the Horde forces threatening to secure Azerite supplies in Silithus. In Ashenvale he was reunited with Delaryn and thwarted a rogue attack on the two of them. They were unable to alert the regional commander Anaris Windwood in time to prevent her assassination.
Ferryn was sent to the Barrens where he scouted the Horde army, identifying High Overlord Varok Saurfang and concluding that Warchief Sylvanas Windrunner was also present. He also organized a mobile druid response team that defended Falfarren River. The druids were intercepted by Lorash Sunbeam and Chikkers, but the arrival of Malfurion Stormrage left Ferryn free to return to the defense of the river.
He died when a mage spell illuminated him while attempting a stealth attack on Saurfang with the orc decapitating him mid-leap. During the Burning of Teldrassil, Delaryn imagined Ferryn was keeping her company and telling her to close her eyes and rest as she lay dying, watching her homeland burn.
- At some point, he fought in Northrend.
