Fistful of Love is an objective of the meta-achievement, [Fool For Love].

Strategy

First, acquire the needed  [Handful of Rose Petals]. Although some players experienced difficulty with them, Blizzard has said that  [Bouquet of Red Roses], and  [Bouquet of Ebon Roses] should both be working substitutes for the consumable rose petals.[1]

Bouquets drop in several high level dungeons during the event, while the handfuls of petals can be purchased from Lovely Merchants in exchange for [Love Tokens].

Then, encounter characters of the appropriate race/class combinations, and show them with rose petals. Many players work on these kinds of achievements in battlegrounds such as Alterac Valley, although Dalaran, with its high population and mixed-faction nature is also a popular choice. There is also no level requirement, so traveling to starting areas can be helpful if you're having trouble finding a draenei paladin, for example. Using the built-in character search ability can help locate characters of the appropriate variety: /who draenei paladin for example.

Notes

During the 2009 Love is in the Air event, the  [Bouquet of Red Roses] were removed from level 60 dungeons, but later patched back into the same dungeons that dropped  [Bouquet of Ebon Roses].
