The Follower Retraining Certificate will randomly reroll all (with a few notable exceptions) abilities and traits on a Garrison follower. By right-clicking on the certificate and then left-clicking on a follower in the mission UI, the selected follower will instantly and without confirmation have his or her abilities and traits rerolled.

There are three special traits that cannot be removed with the use of a certificate:

  • Angler — With Nat's knowledge your fishing skill in Draenor allows you to catch lunkers without bait.
  • Bodyguard — Can accompany you as a guardian in Draenor when assigned to a level 2 or 3 barracks.
  • Evergreen — When assigned to the Lumber Mill, can more efficiently and humanely processes timber.

There are five traits that cannot be gained with the use of a certificate:

  • Angler — With Nat's knowledge your fishing skill in Draenor allows you to catch lunkers without bait.
  • Bodyguard — Can accompany you as a guardian in Draenor when assigned to a level 2 or 3 barracks.
  • Dancer — Your lithe moves help you skip out of danger zones just a bit more quickly.
  • Evergreen — When assigned to the Lumber Mill, can more efficiently and humanely processes timber.
  • Hearthstone Pro — A master tactician, and a must-watch. Party members gain experience 35% more quickly.

All other abilities and traits are in play, with the caveat that many abilities are limited to the follower's class and specialization. Importantly, the following traits can be gained or lost with a certificate:

  • Epic Mount — Reduces mission time by 50%.
  • Extra Training — Increases the experience gained from a mission for all followers by 35%.
  • Scavenger — Increases the garrison resources gained from a mission by 100%.

A follower who has any of these traits may (and likely will) lose them if a retraining certificate is used on him or her.
