Forums: Village pump → Mission icons

One of the millions things I have on my to-do list is to nudge admins about missions, so here it goes. The idea is to add support for mission links purely for visual look. This means, adding icons next to mission names, like the quest and achievement links have them next to their names here. There are several types of icons; those that appear on the report button on the minimap (to denote the expansion), and then the "mission type" icon that wowhead has next to names here and here (to denote that type). Opinions? If agreed, then someone else would be needed to actually do it, tho :-D -- Mordecay (talk) 19:00, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

I don't see why not. If no one is opposed, I can gather up the icons and upload them. "report button on the minimap", I assume you meant the Missions report, Garrison Report, and Class Hall Report.— SurafbrovWowpedia administrator T / C 17:49, 4 June 2020 (UTC)

Yep, those. Forgot to mention that in the original post, and likely you know about it, but I imagine they would function based on parameters like "|class=" for the Legion ones, "|faction=" for the BfA ones, and the mission type icons based on the "|type=" param on every mission. the report buttons might not work very well for legion & BfA, since many missions are available to all classes/both factions. it may be easier to treat them similarly to quests, just with an additional icon for the type —Eithris (talk) 23:22, 4 June 2020 (UTC)

Implementing

Looks good. Not sure about the level. The 110 should be the same across all Legion missions, IIRC, but the item level is different, and that could have some kind of informative value, so maybe yea. Now looking at the tooltip when mousing over it shows error. Didn't think of that originally, tbh. Should it have a tooltip of the infobox or it's not necessary?
