Frostfire Ridge storyline

Frostfire Ridge zone map

The Frostfire Ridge storyline is the Horde starting experience in Frostfire Ridge after getting through Warlords of Draenor intro experience. Here, players quickly set up their Garrison at Frostwall in the south-center portion of the zone, then work to help shore up the Frostwolf clan's defenses.

In addition to the overarching zone storyline, a huge number of vignettes can also be found all over Frostfire Ridge. These vignettes are one-time events: killing rare or rare-elite mobs, finding out-of-the-way treasure chests, or small events like fending off waves of attackers.

After landing in Frostfire, players need to get settled, and quickly set up their Garrison at Frostwall. This portion of the quest chain serves as an introduction and tutorial to the garrison system.

The taking of Bladespire Citadel

Drek'Thar sends players to Wor'gol to begin the siege of Bladespire Citadel, outpost of the ogre empire.

Wor'gol under attack

After claiming Bladespire Citadel, and some loot from the sack of the citadel, the news comes that Wor'gol is under attack by the Thunderlord clan! Along the way are several side quest chains.

After repelling the invasion and delivering Drek'Thar's vision to Durotan back at the Citadel, he forks the storyline, beginning both the "Ga'nar's Vengeance" and "Thunder's Fall" chapters.

Once "Ga'nar's Vengance" and "Thunder's Fall" chapters are both completed, the Thunderlord Clan will launch an invasion on the Garrison. When this is repelled, the chain continues with The Battle of Thunder Pass.

Side quests

All of these side quests are optional to the main zone storyline, but reward plenty of gold, faction standing, and maybe a follower or two:

Garrison alchemy lab

The Alchemy Lab sign-off

Players will find a  [Mysterious Flask] in the Bounty of Bladespire chest on H [91] The Bounty of Bladespire, or on a random quest mob out in Frostfire Ridge, which starts a quest chain to acquire the Alchemy Lab blueprints.

Darkspear's Edge

Rokhan at the garrison has ordered a small camp set up on the Crackling Plains to the north to gather some supplies. It's up to the commander to actually do the gruntwork, though.

Agurak's Fall

After winning the Battle of Thunder Pass, a short quest chain takes place at the Bones of Agurak, south of the Iron Siegeworks.

Bonus objectives

Forbidden Glacier

Just outside Wor'gol to the northeast, an ogre experiment has gone wrong, knocking Mor'dul Tower out of time and summoning a bunch of Malevolent Breaths that have frozen a squad of Frostwolves.

Grimfrost Hill

Ogres to kill at Grimfrost Hill

One of the bonus objectives of Frostfire Ridge takes place at Grimfrost Hill. Hidden nearby, a mortally-wounded Outrider Urukag also has a few quests to give.

Frostbite Hollow

A couple of bonus objectives take place at Frostbite Hollow, north of the Magnarok.

Higher-level quests

There are several higher-level areas in Frostfire Ridge: the level 94 area in the northwest involving the Shadow Council, the level 100 Bloodmaul ogre camp along the northern coast, and the level-100 part of the Iron Siegeworks in the southeast corner of the zone.

Shadow Council

The Shadow Council in Frostfire Ridge!?

Adventurers wandering about north of the Daggermaw Ravine may have noticed a stray exclamation mark on the minimap. A night elf warden, Cordana Felsong, is on a hunt with Archmage Khadgar to root out the Shadow Council in Frostfire Ridge.

Drek'Thar's adventure

Thrall sends players after Drek'Thar, who has gone on an adventure to figure out what's happening with the local elementals. Drek'Thar, Draka, and the adventurer, are in for a world of hurt.
