Gamescom (stylized as gamescom) is the world's largest gaming event and Europe's biggest trade fair for video games, held annually at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany. It is used by many video game developers to exhibit their upcoming games, including Blizzard Entertainment present every year.

2018

Gamescom 2018 was held on August 21 through August 25. Blizzard announced on May 15, 2018 that they would be attending once again.[2]

2017

With over 350,000 attendees, Gamescom 2017 was held from August 22 to August 26. Attendees were able to run though the new dungeon Seat of the Triumvirate that was introduced in patch 7.3. The World of Warcraft European Championship Finals was taken place at the World of Warcraft stage with a share of $100,000 and a chance to compete in the World of Warcraft Arena World Championship Finals at BlizzCon 2017. A live Darkmoon Faire was present at the Blizzard booth during the event including activities like an airbrush makeup station and photo opportunities with iconic World of Warcraft statues and items. World of Warcraft patch 7.3.0 The Path to Argus was revealed.[3]

2016

Gamescom 2016 was held from 17 August to 21 August. World of Warcraft patch 7.1.0 was announced.[4] Overwatch's Animated Short "The Last Bastion" was revealed. New content was revealed for Heroes of the Storm, StarCraft II and Overwatch.[5]

2015

Gamescom 2015 was held from 5 August to 9 August. World of Warcraft: Legion was announced.

2014

Gamescom 2014 was held from 13 August to 17 August. This year, Blizzard had the biggest ever booth.[6] Four games were available to play and try out: World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor, Heroes of the Storm, Diablo III: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition for PlayStation 4 and Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft.

2013

Gamescom 2013 was held from 21 August to 25 August. On August 24, a custome contest took place with the first winner getting a award for a paid trip to BlizzCon 2013 and the second winner winning an Alienware 14 gaming laptop worth about €1,700. On August 25, a dance contest took place.

2012

Gamescom 2012 was held on August 15-19, 2012 in Cologne, Germany. The Blizzard Entertainment booth was located in Hall 6.1 (B21). On August 16, the opening cinematic for World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria was revealed.[7] The european World of Warcraft Invitational tournament took place on August 19.[8]
