Gilneas Brigade (Warcraft III)
- This article is about the brigade that fought during the Third War. For the modern brigade, see Gilneas Brigade.
Defunct; merged into the city-state of Theramore
The Gilneas Brigade, commanded by an unidentified dwarven mountain king, was a detachment of troops within the Human Expedition that were led by Jaina Proudmoore to Kalimdor. In the mission it appears in, the Brigade is almost entirely made up of dwarven riflemen and mortar operators.
The Gilneas Brigade was sent by Darius Crowley, a Gilnean noble and dissident. Crowley's lands were split by the Greymane Wall and he sent the Brigade in an act of defiance against Genn Greymane before the Northgate Rebellion.
While in service to Jaina the Gilneas Brigade would form an encampment and aid in guarding the passage into the Stonetalon Peaks. Some time later the encampment came under attack from Grommash Hellscream and the Warsong clan. In response the brigade struck back against the rest of the Horde.
