Paladin Hand spells were short-term paladin spells that gave their target a powerful effect before fading shortly after.
History[]
Hand spells were implemented in patch 3.0.2. They were made up of many of the former Blessing spells. Many of the Hand spells were Blessings that acted as a short-term utility rather than standard raid buff, including the former [Blessing of Freedom], [Blessing of Protection], and [Blessing of Sacrifice] spells. In addition, [Blessing of Salvation] was converted into a hand spell from a long term Blessing. These spells were from then on known as [Hand of Freedom], [Hand of Protection], [Hand of Sacrifice], and [Hand of Salvation].
Available hands[]
There are numerous hands available to Paladins. The available hands are as follows:
Ability | Reqs | Duration | Cooldown | Description |
---|---|---|---|---|
Level 48 | 10 sec | 5 min | Places a Hand on a party or raid member, protecting them from all physical attacks for 10 sec, but during that time they cannot attack or use physical abilities. Cannot be used on a target with Forbearance. Causes Forbearance for 1 min. | |
Level 52 | 6 sec | 25 sec | Places a Hand on the friendly target, granting immunity to movement impairing effects for 6 sec. | |
Level 66 | 10 sec | 2 min | Places a Hand on the party or raid member, reducing their total threat by 2% every 1 sec for 10 sec. | |
Level 80 | 12 sec | 2 min | Places a Hand on a party or raid member, transferring 30% damage taken to the Paladin. Lasts 12 sec or until the Paladin has transferred 100% of their maximum health. | |
Level 60 talent | 6 sec | 30 sec | Places a Hand on the friendly target, reducing the damage of harmful periodic effects by 70% for 6 sec. |
Improving hands with talents[]
All Hands (except Hand of Purity) could be improved with [Clemency]. Clemency gave each of these Hand spells two "charges", that could be used in quick succession. However these "charges" were not on independent or parallel cooldowns, but cooldown sequentially.
