World of Warcraft

Muninn Magellas has had an insatiable curiosity for history and arcana since he was a small boy. Now, as the patron of the Explorers' Guild, his childhood wish has come true. Magellas is responsible for mapping out the world and cataloguing its various species, relics, and treasures for the generations to come. Employing a small army of Prospectors, Magellas has sent his agents all over the world to gain knowledge and insight for his people. Like King Magni, Magellas was grieved to hear of Brann's loss.
The Shattering: Prelude to Cataclysm
Muninn tried to decipher the phrases from and was present at the ritual in Old Ironforge, where he translated the unknown language spoken by Magni and Belgrum during the ritual to Anduin Wrynn. After the king turned to diamond, he was completely aghast.
Following the Argus Campaign, he arrived to the Hall of Explorers to meet with Magni Bronzebeard who spoke about Azerite. Muninn immediately agreed to send a team from the Explorers' League to Silithus.
In the RPG
Back during the Second War, the intellectual dwarf named Munnin Magellas, had a vision of discovering the world's and the dwarves secrets. It was his vision and drive that led to founding of the Explorers' League.
- Muninn Magellas is likely named for Muninn, one of the two ravens of Odin in Norse mythology, and the famous explorer Ferdinand Magellan.
Tomli and Muninn
In the World of Warcraft manual, it talks about a Muninn Magellas. In Lands of Conflict, which is set sometime before the events of World of Warcraft, it talks about a Tomli Magellas. Dark Factions mentions the founding of the guild and speaks of Muninn Magellas. Both "characters" have the title of High Explorer, along with Brann Bronzebeard. It is unknown if they were intended to be relatives or the same character but with the decanonization of the RPG books, Tomli too was made non-canon.
