  • Jail Break!

Description

We need to get out of here, <name>. Help me get my gear back from the supply area and free my friends. If we make it out of here, you are to proceed to Morgan's Vigil and speak with Marshal Maxwell. He will give you further instruction.

Completion

Amazing, <name>. Simply amazing. Windsor stormed through here not five minutes ago. He makes some grand claims but purports that they are supported by his evidence. He is on his way to Stormwind now to confront Bolvar and ... Lady Prestor.

Notes

Jail Break! is an escort quest. Make sure that everyone who wants credit for the jail break has turned in A [58D] A Shred of Hope before starting this quest. Also, be sure to have an empty quest log slot before starting this, or it will fail immediately.

Preparation: You will want to clean out the supply closet, clockwise from Windsor's cell, and also the open area between the prison wing and the Ring of Law wing. Optionally, you may want to clear out everything in the Ring of Law tunnel loop. Do NOT open the prison cells in the Ring of Law tunnel before Windsor gets to them, or face the inhabitants of all of them coming out to play.

You will proceed clockwise from Winsor's cell to the supply closet. There are several mobs inside the closet, as well as further mobs that ambush you outside the closet. When these mobs are dispatched, Winsor will armor up (at which point, he becomes effective in combat).

Marshal Windsor will provide a +700 armor [Devotion Aura] to the party after retrieving his armor. This could well be a benefit when tackling the mobs around the Ring of Law.

You will then proceed across the open area to the other loop (which goes around the Ring of Law arena). There are several doors along the loop that Marshal Windor will direct you to open (with the prison cell key), lock picking works. Inside each cell is a malefactor of one sort or another, most of whom you must defeat.

After making the loop, Windsor will run back to the entrance area, and the quest will complete.

At all times, people on this quest should stay relatively close (visual range) to Marshal Windsor or fail the escort portion of the mission. And, obvious as it is, Marshal Windsor must not die during the escort. If you die during the escort, and can get resurrected, do not release. (Releasing puts you out of visual range, and reportedly unlinks you from the quest without causing the quest to actually fail.)

If you fail this quest, abandon the quest, exit and reset the instance, then return to try again.
