The jalgar were a fierce race of bear-men who once dwelled in the northern reaches of ancient Kalimdor. They were the mortal enemy of the Dragonflayer clan of vrykul, but when the Dragonflayers learned to befriend and ride the savage proto-dragons, the jalgar were driven south into Kalimdor's lush central forests. There, they eventually evolved into the furbolgs.[1]

This article or section includes speculation, observations or opinions possibly supported by lore or by Blizzard officials. It should not be taken as representing official lore.
  • The jalgar may have been created by Ursoc, as they are the ancestors to the furbolgs and Brann Bronzebeard's research says Ursoc created the furbolgs.[2]
  • The jalgar may be the polar furbolg.
  • The Guardian Druid artifact appearance added in patch 7.2 resembles a large, muscular furbolg and may be a jalgar.
  • Early concept art for drogbar had them as bear creatures.[3] They may have originally been planned to be jalgar.
