The Killmonger is a pirate ship originally captained by Ironpatch of the Bloodsail Buccaneers. Around the time of the Cataclysm, the Killmonger and the Orca surrounded the Sea King of the Blackwater Raiders, catching the crew unawares, as they were celebrating their first loot from the Winter's Knot. The Bloodsail crew quickly boarded the King, captured the Blackwater pirates and plundered it. While the Orca was sent away with the Blackwater loot, Ironpatch remained on Sea King to deal with his prisoners. Unbeknownst to Ironpatch, the Killmonger was approached by Wavestrider led by Greydon Thorne. Thorne's men silently dispatched the skeleton crew that remained on the Killmonger and then continued to ambush Ironpatch and his men on the Sea King, just in time to stop the orc from executing Makasa Flintwill. Greydon's crew quickly released the Sea King's men and defeated the Bloodsail crew, with Makasa impaling Ironpatch who subsequently fell into the water. With no Bloodsail pirates left, the Sea King's quartermaster O'Ryen Jones took command of the Killmonger and headed back to Booty Bay.[1]
