Molten Core is a passive specialization ability for Demonology warlocks, available at level 69.
Patch changes[]
- Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): Removed.
- Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Triggered by Shadowflame (from [Hand of Gul'dan]) or a Wild Imp (from [Wild Imps]) instead of [Immolate]. Proc chance increased from 6% to 8%. Reduces cast time and mana cost of [Soul Fire] instead of [Incinerate].
- Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): No longer increases duration of [Immolate]. Proc chance reduced to 2/4/6% and is now caused by [Immolate] instead of [Corruption]. No longer affects [Soul Fire].
- Patch 3.3.0 (2009-12-08): Redesigned. This talent now increases the duration of [Immolate] by 3/6/9 seconds and provides a 4/8/12% chance to gain the Molten Core effect when [Corruption] deals damage. The Molten Core effect empowers the next 3 [Incinerate] or [Soul Fire] spells cast within 15 seconds ( [Incinerate]: increases damage done by 6/12/18% and reduces cast time by 10/20/30%; [Soul Fire]: increases damage done by 6/12/18% and increases critical strike chance by 5/10/15%). Molten Core now has a new spell effect.
- Previous effect: "Your Shadow spells and damage over time effects have a 5%/10%/15% chance to increase the damage of your Fire spells by 10% for 6 sec.
- Previous effect: "Your Shadow spells and damage over time effects have a 5%/10%/15% chance to increase the damage of your Fire spells by 10% for 6 sec.
- Patch 3.1.0 (2009-04-14): This talent has been moved to the Demonology tree (tier 6), from the Destruction tree (tier 2).
- Patch 3.0.2 (2008-10-14): Added.
