Morgl the Oracle is a murloc who rarely appears in the Heart of Azeroth, the shaman order hall, or in Deliverance Point on the Broken Shore. Morgl first appeared in Hearthstone as a shaman hero before being introduced in World of Warcraft.

Background

When Morgl arrives at the Heart of Azeroth or Deliverance Point, his arrival is marked by a gold star on the minimap labeled "Tides of Wisdom". Though he only speaks Nerglish, it is clear that Morgl wants to borrow the Farseer's artifact weapon. If the player gives him their weapon, they gain the Borrow Artifact ("Someone is borrowing your artifact") debuff. When given  [The Fist of Ra-den], Morgl waves it around for a bit, before giving it back to the player. When given the  [Doomhammer], Morgl hits a bunch of rocks with it. When given  [Sharas'dal, Scepter of Tides], he will grant 50 Artifact Power directly to the weapon.

In Hearthstone

Hearthstone This section contains information exclusive to Hearthstone and is considered non-canon.

Morgl is the alternate hero (player character) for the shaman class in Hearthstone. He is obtained by a special promotion similar to World of Warcraft's Recruit-A-Friend system.[1] His flavor text reads: "Mrrgl mrrgl mrrrrrrrgl. Mrrrrrgl! Mrgl?" Morgl was first mentioned in the flavor text of the Puddlestomper card, 19 months prior to his release: "He pays homage to Morgl, the great murloc oracle! (Who doesn't??)"[2]

While most murlocs are more likely to have visitors for lunch than they are to invite them over for tea, Morgl the Oracle has wisdom, wit, and the wherewithal to fight the good fight. His language skills aren’t quite up to Finley’s level, but his command of the elements is unmatched! He’s got the attitude, and he’s got the skills—now he just needs a little convincing![1]
