Mythic is a difficulty of dungeons and raids. Introduced with Warlords of Draenor, it is the new cutting edge difficulty, replacing the position of Heroic raid difficulty.[1] In Patch 6.2, Mythic mode was expanded to include 5-man dungeon instances.

Dungeons

There are presently 19 Dungeons available with Mythic difficulty, including three dungeons that are Mythic difficulty only. Unlike Normal and Heroic difficulties, Mythic difficulty Dungeons cannot be accessed through the Dungeon Finder tool.

All Legion Dungeons (with the exception of Violet Hold) feature a Keystone system that adds additional levels of difficulty onto the base Mythic level.

Raids

Mythic difficulty for Raids is designed to be the most challenging instance content available, offering the highest item level gear and exclusive achievements, mounts and other rewards. In contrast to the flexible Normal and Heroic modes, raid size is fixed at 20 players. There are presently seven raids available over three expansions with Mythic difficulty.

Composition

Lead Encounter Designer Ion Hazzikostas suggests that Mythic raids will be composed of 2-3 tanks (mostly 2), 4-6 healers (mostly 5), and around 13 DPS.[2]
