Phoenix mounts are epic flying mounts, that are obtained from a variety of different ways.

Drops

•  [Ashes of Al'ar] is a rare drop from Kael'thas Sunstrider in the Eye.
•  [Solar Spirehawk] is a rare drop from Rukhmar in Spires of Arak.

Dark Phoenix

 [Reins of the Dark Phoenix] is purchased from guild vendors for 3000 if the guild has completed the  [Guild Glory of the Cataclysm Raider] achievement.

Unobtainable

When you completed the achievement  [Challenge Conqueror: Silver]), you received one  [Ancestral Phoenix Egg] in the mail. This was redeemed for a pandaren phoenix mount by visiting Kai Featherfall located in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, outside the Seat of Knowledge. The egg was turned in for one of the following mounts, but purchasing one of the mounts automatically unlocked the other three as well:
