Priestess

In Warcraft III.

The elite, night elf clergy, known as the Sisterhood of Elune, is made up of these worthy women. The priestesses of the moon[1] (also capitalized,[2] and also known as the priestesses of the moon goddess,[3][4] the priestesses of Elune[5][6] and moon priestesses) epitomize the power and grace of their race's ancient moon goddess, Elune. The priestesses of the moon, equipped with silvery, glowing armor, ride the fearless Winterspring Frostsabers into battle. Charged with the safekeeping of the night elf lands and armed with magical energy bows — the priestesses of the moon will stop at nothing to rid their ancient land of evil.[7][8] Elune's light is a part of themselves.[9]

During the Burning Legion's third invasion, many priestesses of Elune joined the Conclave in the Netherlight Temple. Many ghosts of the priestesses were encountered inside the Tomb of Sargeras, including Dejahna.

More cursed priestesses were found in Elun'alor Temple in the ruins of Zin-Azshari in Nazjatar.[10]

Valuable as healers during wartime, priestesses of the moon can also use their divine magic spells to hinder or harm the enemy. They are also inspirational leaders and excellent archers. Priestesses of the moon often keep to the rear, protecting the wounded with ranged weapons. Guided by Elune, priestesses of the moon serve as a morale boost for troops, assuring them that they will be healed, protected for or, at worst, blessed during their final journey.[11]

Notes and trivia[]

  • Many members of the Sisterhood are wearing a Inv chest cloth 04 [Mooncloth Robe].
  • In the Warcraft III alpha, priestesses of the Moon rode giant owls that may have inspired the current-day seekers.[12] Flying heroes were later removed from the game, and the priestesses were instead given frostsabers.
