The Rakeeshi are an elite army of demons of the Burning Legion under the command of the of High General Rakeesh, who they are named for. Members of the force are primarily man'ari eredar, and are presumably of a very high quality, having been chosen to serve under the High General.
The Rakeeshi have recently seen action as part of the Burning Legion's third invasion of Azeroth.
History
Battle for the Exodar
During the Third invasion of the Burning Legion, High General Rakeesh and his Rakeeshi eredar (along with lesser demons) launched a major assault on The Exodar, the home of the draenei on Azeroth.[1] The demons' primary goal for the attack was the destruction of the naaru O'ros, who threatened to decipher the recently-arrived 
[Light's Heart]. Should the secrets of the object be revealed, it could greatly advance the cause of those resisting the Burning Legion.
The city's residents were quickly overwhelmed by the sudden and brutal attack, with the majority retreating to the relative safety of the Vault of Lights and the protection of the Light's Chosen. The Rakeeshi thus quickly overran the draenei defenders and initially were able to occupy a great deal of the city. As the battle progressed, however, the arrival of Prophet Velen and his champion succeeded in securing gains against the attackers.
Eventually, Velen himself ventured forth to the Seat of the Naaru in order to confront High General Rakeesh personally, and save O'ros. As he did so, the elite Light's Chosen went about purging the final remnants of Rakeeshi and other demons from the Exodar. In a final confrontation with Rakeesh—who was revealed to have been Velen's long-lost son—the eredar general was slain, though so too was the naaru O'ros.
The losses suffered during the battle, including the loss of their leader, marked a blow to the Rakeeshi's strength.
Broken Shore
Following the Battle for the Exodar, the Rakeeshi remained active in the invasion of Azeroth. The demons established themselves on the Coast of Anguish on the southern Broken Shore. The Rakeeshi worked to corrupt the surrounding region using fel energies, greatly damaging the land in the region. As part of the Assault on Broken Shore, the Armies of Legionfall targeted the position and succeeded in bringing a halted to the Rakeeshi plans, as well as slaying their leader in the area, Morzuun the Plaguebringer.[2]

Notes
- The numerical size of the Rakeeshi is not entirely clear. While they suffered heavy losses during the Battle for the Exodar, they remained at least intact enough to continue to pose a threat on the Broken Shore some time later, indicating they are a significant force.
