Released Crawgs are the result of Suppressed Crawgs being freed from Crawg Tamer Traskniss' ritual in a cave at the Feeding Pits in Vol'dun. As soon as Traskniss is killed, the Suppressed Crawgs in the cave become Released Crawgs and stampede out of the cave and away from the Feeding Pits, killing any Faithless that happen to be in their way. During 
[30-60] Vengeance From Above, they can be seen fighting Faithless Oppressors, Faithless Ravagers, and Faithless Slavers on the Crackling Ridge and in the Slithering Gulch.
Other Released Crawgs can be summoned by the 
[Cracked Crawg Shackles] to assist the player in combat.
