Ruins of Auberdine
The Ruins of Auberdine is the state of the Auberdine port town after Deathwing destroyed it and after the Battle for Darkshore. While partially rebuilt by the night elves in the aftermath of the battle, a large portion of the town still remains ruined.

Following the Cataclysm, the port town of Auberdine was destroyed when Deathwing flew over it. Now, all that remains of the night elven town are the wrecked and desolated buildings while the former docks are plunged into the sea. The inhabitants that fled founded two new settlements: the town of Lor'danel in the north, and the Auberdine Refugee Camp in the east. Some stayed behind, however, hoping to salvage their own home. They were eventually forced out by an attack of the Twilight's Hammer cultists and their water elementals. Many of the refugees fleeing this second attack were killed during their trek towards Lor'danel along the coast. Fatalities included the town's elder, Thundris Windweaver. The survivors were picked up by sentinels and hippogryphs from Lor'danel, where they were tended to by priestesses. A memorial plaque for the fallen was eventually erected within the town.
Sentinel Lendra at the Auberdine Refugee Camp enlisted the help of adventurers to try and take back the ruins of Auberdine from the Twilight's Hammer, hoping to foil their plan of summoning the massive lightning revenant, Aetherion. In the process, they released the wisps from a number of the dead townsfolk.

During the War of the Thorns, the ruins became a battleground, with the elven forces led by Lieutenant Aylissa Silverarrow facing orcs led by Lieutenant Oogra. The Horde forces sought to raze the remnants of the town. Fallen Glaives were lying around. The Auberdine Refugee Camp was lit on fire and abandoned by the refugees.
During the Blood War, the Horde sent Azerite-powered shredders into the ruins to salvage it. Horde champions were sent there to prevent Alliance spies from gathering information, encountering Huntress Duskrunner. Alliance champions were to steal or sabotage their technology.
During her quest to become the Night Warrior, Tyrande Whisperwind passed through the town, retrieving the artifact known as the Eye of Elune from the hunter's hall. Later, Maiev Shadowsong and her team arrived in the area via The Moonspray, hoping to chase down Tyrande. They splintered the Forsaken occupation force led by Deathstalker Commander Belmont before pushing on towards Bashal'Aran.
During the Battle for Darkshore, both sides sought to use the ruins of Auberdine as the starting point of their assault. The Alliance was also trying to rebuild the town's inn and the docks, with Nevara Nightshade commanding the elven defenses here. The long pier of Auberdine Coast is patrolled by wisps. When the Horde controlled the zone, the entire town was ruined again.
After the Alliance won the Battle for Darkshore, the pier, dock and inn were repaired.

- For tailors and miners, the moonwell is intact, and the forge is partially buried, but still usable.
- One denizen, likely a night elf male by the looks of the skeleton, died while underwater below one of the buildings in Auberdine. He was wearing some form of diving helmet, though the rest of his clothing (if he was wearing any at all) has long since dissolved.
- Patch 8.1.0 (2018-12-11): Updated to Legion night elf architecture.
- Patch 4.0.3a (2010-11-23): Auberdine has been renamed to Ruins of Auberdine.
