Spell holy sealofblood
  • Seal of Command
  • Melee attacks cause Holy damage.
Not to be confused with Ability warrior innerrage [Seals of Command].

Seal of Command is a paladin ability, available at level 3. At level 24, it is replaced with Spell holy sealofvengeance [Seal of Truth].

Before it was removed in patch 4.0.1 it was a talent in the Retribution tree, that required 10 talent points invested in the tree to take. Using a Spell holy righteousfury [Judgment] spell while Seal of Command was active dealt Holy damage. Holy damage was also applied on each weapon swing.

Patch changes[]

Seal of Command TCG

In the World of Warcraft: Trading Card Game.

  • Legion Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): Removed.
  • Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Re-added. Now adds 10% holy damage to melee attacks, and does not chain to nearby targets.
  • Cataclysm Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Removed from game. Replaced by the Ability warrior innerrage [Seals of Command], which has Seal of Command's effects woven into it. The differences between the two spells include Seals of Command being passive, applying additional weapon-damage instead of holy-damage, and only applying the 'splash'-damage to Spell holy righteousnessaura [Seal of Righteousness].
  • Wrath-Logo-Small Patch 3.2.2 (2009-09-22): This ability now chains to strike up to 2 additional targets when it is triggered by an attack that can only strike a single target.
  • Wrath-Logo-Small Patch 3.2.0 (2009-08-04): Redesigned. This seal now deals 36% weapon damage on every swing, and deals substantially less judgement damage.
  • Wrath-Logo-Small Patch 3.0.9 (2009-02-10): The duration on all Seals has been increased to 30 minutes and can no longer dispelled.
  • Wrath-Logo-Small Patch 3.0.8 (2009-01-20): Now gives the Paladin a chance to deal {0.45*Min Weap Damage+0.45*0.23*SpellPower} to {0.45*Max Weap Damage+0.45*0.23*SpellPower} additional Holy damage.
  • Wrath-Logo-Small Patch 3.0.3 (2008-11-04): Damage changed from 56% to 45% of weapon damage.
  • Wrath-Logo-Small Patch 3.0.2 (2008-10-14):
    • All Seals have been reduced to 1 rank and now cost 14% of base mana. The duration has been increased to 2 minutes and are no longer consumed when a Judgement spell is cast. The effects can be triggered from all weapon based special abilities.
    • Now increases Judgement damage by 30% of weapon damage, 60% on stunned targets.
As of Patch 3.0.2, Seal of Command procs on abilities as well as melee on separate ppm charts, significantly increasing the dps of the ability. The damage of SoC was also reduced to 56% of main weapon damage.
  • Bc icon Patch 2.1.0 (2007-05-22): Fixed some data errors that caused Seal of Command to generate more threat than intended.
  • WoW Icon update Patch 1.11.0 (2006-06-19):
    • Clarified tooltip.
    • Seal of Command critical hits can now trigger Vengeance.
Since Patch 1.11, Seal of Command proc will have approximately 0.5 second delay before the animation begins and the Holy damage is incurred, instead of having the proc occur instantly with the swing of the attack. This is considered a good change, since if the normal swing is a critical strike and Vengeance is triggered, the Seal of Command proc will be affected by the buff.
  • WoW Icon update Patch 1.9.0 (2006-01-03):
    • The proc will occur more often, but will only do 70% of weapon-swing damage.
    • Damage bonus from +Holy damage items slightly increased.
  • WoW Icon update Patch 1.6.0 (2005-07-12):
    • Should now correctly report damage in the overhead display and the combat log.
    • Fixed a bug where Seal of Command prevented other On Hit weapon effects from occurring.
  • WoW Icon update Patch 1.3.0 (2005-03-07): The damage effects can now be resisted instead of dodged, blocked, or parried.
  • WoW Icon update Patch 1.1.1 (2004-11-17): The effect chance of Seal of Command has been reduced slightly.
