Introduction[]
The Perenolde server is an "original release server" available since the launch of World of Warcraft in November of 2004.
Early in the realm's history, it had a low population in comparison to other PvE realms[citation needed] , especially versus those that had been opened on release. Because of this, a free character transfer was temporarily opened for characters from Doomhammer to transfer to Perenolde. Following this transfer, Perenolde reached higher population numbers, at some points exceeding that of Doomhammer[citation needed] .
Many Perenolde raiding guilds were able to complete the end game content up through Naxxramas (though not clearing it). At the time of release for Burning Crusade, Perenolde guilds had not cleared Naxxramas, and only a handful had completed AQ40.
Upon release of the Burning Crusade the most progressed Perenolde guild, Fraternity (A), reorganized and renamed itself "Phase Two". The guild has made good end-game progress, clearing all the current content through Black Temple. As of January 2008, they remain the only guild on the server to do so.
In PvP, Perenolde is part of the Cyclone Battlegroup. In Arena play, Perenolde is somewhat under-represented in the Hall of Fame as compared to other realms in the battlegroup. For season one play, only four teams from Perenolde are in the Hall of Fame. This marginally improved with season two, with five Perenolde arena teams making the Hall of Fame.
Perenolde saw some publicity when the guild Sleeper Cartel was recognized by Blizzard as one of five original members of the Guild Relations program[citation needed] . Sleeper Cartel regularly offers parties, level one footraces, and other serverwide events.
