Shadowmane was the mount of Aurius Rivendare. Upon his death, it was claimed by Raemien the Soultaker.
During the Burning Legion's third invasion, paladins of the Silver Hand invaded Stratholme to find Rivendare's body and the steed only to be attacked by Raemien. Upon the death knight's death, Shadowmane was taken by the paladins into the Sanctum of Light and they redeemed it into Glowing Reins of the Golden Charger to serve as a mount of the new Highlord.[1]
