Shrine of Dath'Remar.

The Shrine of Dath'Remar is a monument located on the west side of Sunstrider Isle in Eversong Woods.[29.6, 19.4] It was created to honor Dath'Remar Sunstrider, the first king of the Sunstrider dynasty.

In World of Warcraft

The text box that appears after clicking on the plaque located on the front of the shrine says:

You have discovered the location of the shrine! Upon further investigation, you sense a strong pulse of the strange power that has gripped the Isle. You feel a bit uncomfortable standing by the shrine... And perhaps a bit disturbed.

The bronze placard along the side of the shrine reads:

Here stands the shrine of Dath'Remar, a fitting tribute to a noble elf. Let all who gaze on this monument remember his sacrifices for our people and his dedication to the cause of our continued survival. All who prosper in Quel'Thalas do so thanks to him.

Notes

  • Until the release of Cataclysm, the shrine made a reference to Dath'Remar's supposed valiance during the Scourge invasion. It is unknown why, since Dath'Remar was long dead during the invasion; Anasterian Sunstrider was the king of Quel'Thalas who fought the undead legions directly during that time.
  • Many new blood elf players have a hard time finding this shrine, so a few players have dubbed it "Shrine of Mankrik's Wife". This is less of a problem after patch 5.0.4, which marked the shrine on the newly added map of Sunstrider Isle.

Patch changes

  • Cataclysm Patch 4.0.3a (2010-11-23): The shrine now conveys a more broad description of Dath'Remar and no longer references the Scourge.
  • The Burning Crusade Patch 2.0.3 (2007-01-09): Added.
