The Captured Flame item teachers players how to summon the Spirit of Summer, a wisp companion, meaning it is a non-combat pet and will not aid you in battle. It closely resembles a night elf's wisp form, but in red.

Notes
The Spirit of Summer one of the few minipets in the game that is treated as an actual summon. Because of this, you will see the words "You perform Summon Spirit of Summer" within your combat log if you use the item.
