The picture, actually. Was hoping someone who knew how to do that stuff would put it up... and they did! And no, I jsut lurk those forums, don't actually have an account there. AzraelOpacus 00:11, 1 December 2006 (EST)

This is really one of those cases, where I wonder why Blizzard completely retconned Akama's character from that of a "lost one" into a "broken". That is I wonder why they decided to completely change his art design. However I see it wasn't the biggest change as he still appears to have the same baleen style mouth. I suppose it might be interpreted that that hood he wears in Warcraft III covers his tentacles. But I won't even begin speculating about his complete color change.Baggins 01:48, 1 December 2006 (EST)

They've retconned the draenei from red-skinned near-human to the "lost one" type already, then revealed ther true forms. You could argue the reason for the change was an attempt to make Akama look different from the "wretched Lost Ones" he lords over, who have now been established as half-insane. --Ragestorm 09:32, 1 December 2006 (EST)
Actually in warcraft III, draenei came in more colors than just red, they ranged from green, pink, tan, purple, blue, grey, etc. Come to think of it, what I could see in patch 2.0, uncorrupted, and broken draenei seem to come in nearly as wide of a range of colors. It seems that demonic eredar can as well. Course if high elves can turn red with overuse of fel sources of magic to become blood elves, I suppose its easily possible that for some unexplained reason, that skin pigment could change as well.Baggins 12:34, 1 December 2006 (EST)
Not like it's oh-so surprising that being near Illidan and all these fel energies would turn Akama into a Broken, although it does suggest that it's Lost Ones=>Broken rather than the split tree we seem to be having. I like his duel scythes, ftw. Also, the art done yb Wei in 05 shows Akama as a Lost One, and has the other big 4 members as well (Illidan, Kael, and Vashj). But if Akama has a different model, perhaps they do as well. AzraelOpacus 14:49, 1 December 2006 (EST)

How about we just say that he's Broken and the artist didn't have a Broken modle to work from. Baggins, the draenei were red-skinned near-humans in in pre-Reign of Chaos lore, not TFT.--Ragestorm 19:54, 1 December 2006 (EST)

If we want to remain honest, originally any concept art of Akama was that way because that was how blizzard wanted Akama to look like. The only reason his form has changed is because of a retcon, not because the aretist in the past "accidently" didn't have access to some notes from the future discussing "broken". The red skin is mentioned in Warcraft II manual? Hmm, have to check that out.Baggins 19:59, 1 December 2006 (EST)
Umm so I checked warcraft II manual while it talks about distruction of the draenei, and possible enslavement, it doesn't seem to describe what they looked like. The only refrence to red that I could find was, a refrence, "dark red world of the Draenei", but that of course isn't refrence to their skin color. Was the refrence you remember in the novels maybe?Baggins 12:38, 2 December 2006 (EST)
It must have been, because I definetly remember it from somewhere, and it was definetly pre-Reign of Chaos.--Ragestorm 14:15, 2 December 2006 (EST)
Ahh, if you can find it I'd appreciate it, might make for an interesting addendum to an article to list the developer/author history of the race.Baggins 14:18, 2 December 2006 (EST)
How 'bout one of the novels? (haven't read them...yet...but some of them are pre-ROC aren't they? :P) --HEMA 11:44, 23 March 2007 (EDT)

I'm new and don't know how to create a new section or just post in the discussion, so I'm using edit. But I was just wondering what you all think of Akama's betrayal? It seems like everyone is turning their backs on Illidan, including all his real friends. Too bad, I hope Akama changes his mind. Lorok. Illidari Servant March 3

First off, please sign your posts (type "~ ~ ~ ~" without the spaces; it'll put in your name, date and time) on talk pages. Illidan's growing insanity means that a number of people are betraying him. This cannot include real friends because Illidan doesn't have any (with the possible exceptions of Furion and Tyrande). --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 13:26, 3 March 2007 (EST)

A little pattern here?

it is obvious that due to his insanity and greed, illidan is losing everyone close to him. tyrande, aszhara, furion, ravencrest i think (if i am not mistaken, ravencrest died while illidan was showing off instead of doing all that he could), vashj, kael, akama. Even Rhonin, who really seemed to like him at first, quickly realized he was kind of a nuisance of a night elf. this seems to be a pattern they all follow, and akama is a part of it no doubt...think this could play into his (akama's) storyline at all? i would like to see akama and maiev join in a fight against him in a raid or in warcraft 4 or something. anyone else think its plausible?--Haddon 21:44, 10 March 2007 (EST)

Personally I just hope Maiev will die soon...I hate her. Furthermore I love Illidan and I hope he get's his own faction (like horde or alliance) featuring the forsaken, blood elves, naga and the broken/lost ones. (that leaves two place for ogres/mok'nathal/goblins/other races to join the horde)

However...that will definetely not happen till WC 4 (if at all...your scenerio seems to be more plausible...even though I don't think Illidan is gonna die)--—The preceding unsigned comment was added by HEMA (talk · contr).

Cool. Illidan already has his own faction full of demons. It's a bit unlikely that it'll be playable some day, don't you think?--K ) (talk) 12:48, 23 March 2007 (EDT)
Vashj is still on his side, Kael isn't really against Illidan so much as Illidan isn't giving him and his people what they want. Tyrande and Furion forgave him, and the three of them found closure. Illidan is really his own worst enemy, though. He's reponsible for all of his misfortune. As for the Maiev/Akama raid against him... you'll just have to wait and see.--Aldrius 20:40, 15 May 2007 (EDT)

When did the Forsaken join Illidan? (Keilden 06:08, 23 May 2007 (UTC))

Never. There's quite a bit of misinformation in this little topic here. Pzychotix 12:22, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Ravencrest's death had nothing to do with Illidan, and he wasn't ever close to Azshara. --Austin P 10:40, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

So I heard from a friend that he dies right before Maiev arrives to kill Illidan and I heard from another guy that he survives......what really happens?-Marakanis

I think he just despawns.--SWM2448 00:37, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

What do u think will happen with him?I'm eager to see what he'll do with making the temple a place of worship again, should be interesting(Marakanis 17:54, 30 July 2007 (UTC))

WoW has a static storyline, so he will never do it, just say he will, if at all.--SWM2448 18:12, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

What's his class in the info-box i saw Elder Sage but there is not a lot of information about it on wowwiki, but judging by warcraft 3 then he probably is a combination of rogue aand shaman, and in wow he revives the player during a quest so he may well be a shaman at least(Marakanis)

So, he was a priest? --N'Nanz 11:43, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
He was apparently a Priest prior to the fall of Karabor. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 15:39, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Turning into a Broken and the homecity

According the article, Akama lived first in Karabor and then fled via Shattrath to Zangarmarsh. This explains quite well why in the Black Temple trailer Akama's homecity was mentioned Karabor and why he was found from Shattrath in "Unbroken". But there is a odd point between the trailer and the story: In "Unbroken" Akama was the whole time unconsius since his finding, but in the trailer he acts quite actively during time on Zangarmarsh (he is shown as both nearly healthy draenei and a Broken, but in the story he transformed when he was unconcius). I hope that you understand what I mean... Can someone explain this? --Nuti 11:11, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

It seems it is a retcon, most BC backstory things are. If you can change the paragraph to reflect both and still make it work, go right ahead.--SWM2448 19:58, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

I have not read the RPG books, so I don't know what it is either.

I'd personally think it was Chaotic Good, but who knows? Could be True Neutral. IconSmall Wolvar.gifBig, furry, and insane (Have a conversation with the homocidal furry!) (Come and stalk me! ...No, wait, please don't.) 13:02, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

/shrug If I were to guess, I would also say Chaotic Good. He is still trying to do good, just doesn't care how he does it (I.E. Siding with Illidan to take down the Legion and what not).--TheUltimate (talk) 13:11, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
Removing unless we have a specific reference.--Ragestorm (talk · contr) 14:39, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Where does it state that Akama is a shaman now? There's no references to it anywhere in the article (the only places the word appears are his infobox and the category), and he doesn't use any shaman powers that I've ever seen. -- DarkTZeratul (talk) 22:32, 25 September 2013 (UTC)

He shoots lightning and calls feral spirits, but has no totems or other shaman powers. I'm still inclined to remove it, though, unless there are any objections -- DarkTZeratul (talk) 23:56, 25 September 2013 (UTC)
I have no objections, but as a last piece of shamanistic evidence. he did have a [chain lighting] ability in the Raid Black Temple. (Shammiesgun (talk) 00:08, 26 September 2013 (UTC))

Faction Icon

I was out for some time and I want know now why this character (and others like Garad, Kelkar, Zuura and Ga'nar) are without the faction incon at the side of theirs names? Gabrirt (talk · contributions) 21:11, 27 January 2015 (UTC)

A change to the npcbox that if the faction parameter is empty, nothing will appear next to the name. Whereas before if empty the neutral icon was defaulted. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 04:25, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
