Unless there is an official source that refers to Anduin Wrynn as "Anduin Wrynn VI", we shouldn't either.--Aeleas 13:02, 30 April 2006 (EDT)

Is there anymore information on his vanishing? His status is listed as "alive" rather than "vanished", and it's possible he's dead if no one has seen him. Kimera757 14:50, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

Never mind. It's his dad who is missing. Kimera757 11:33, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Why is he a "commoner"? Because he's just a young kid and hasn't grown old enough to specialize into the diplomacy, intrigue, and what not that the "aristocrat" class is known for. Aristrocrat class would just give him too many skills he doesn't quite have yet.Baggins 02:01, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

And yet his wisdom surpasses his age. Garm 21:15, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Actually not quite, its Katrana and Bolvar who are really in charge and making all the decisions. Also as for wisdom you can find wise commoners and wise aristocrats. Wisdom isn't specifically part of the skillset of either. Its certainly not part of the RPG's skillsets heh heh.Baggins (talk) 06:07, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

The Boy King's Fate?

Now that Varian appears to have returned, what'll happen to Anduin? The only good way to run a kingdom with two kings is if you kill one of them...then again, the Twin Emperors seem to rule together well enough. --Joshmaul (talk) 21:34, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

He couldn't kill his own son, either Lo'Gosh will be where his statue is in Northrend, or he'll go back to SW and his son will go back to 5th grade. Now of course you could argue in RL that tons of fathers have killed their sons for power, but WoW is only rated "T" so I don't see that one happening. Plus players can't kill kids why would NPCs?  IconSmall HighElf Male.gif Mr.X8 Talk Contribs 21:38, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Can't believe that question was actualy asked. He's his son. He goes back to being prince. He's not gonna off him. This is Varian and Anduin not Aiden and Aliden.Warthok Talk Contribs 22:33, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Besides which, the only reason Anduin was even crowned king was to create stability after his father went missing. With Varian returned, the former status quo will quickly reassert itself. Varian will go back to ruling Stormwind, Anduin will go back to playing with other kids, and Bolvar will go back to... Well, actually, he'll probably keep doing the same thing he's doing now. Same job, different king. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 22:36, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Well, in game Varian will probuly sit in the Stormwind Harber with one of the three Bolvar's(Hes in northrend, by the kid, and in the harber) So they'll probuly be both Kings depending on where you'r at. HeheUser:Airiph/sig 15:59, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

The comic pretty well established that when "Varian" returned, Anduin went back to being the prince. But we'll have to wait to see what happens when the real Varian comes to Stormwind. Blackhawk003 (talk) 06:25, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

In Varian's Absesnce?

I was wondering when Varian was missing how did this impact Horde raids? Did they now have to raid Stormwind?

Sincerily, D Long ownz U (talk) 21:02, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

Bolvar Fordragon formerly acted as Stormwind's boss. And young Anduin has never been attackable (like any other child in the game).
Rhapsodia (talk) 21:05, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

The upcoming leader of the human hunters?

Judging by the pictures from the manga, he's seen carrying a bow and arrows... Which has my guess that he might be the upcoming leader of the human hunters.--Dedokire (talk) 17:17, February 20, 2010 (UTC)

He also once wielded one of Valeera's daggers, does that make him a rogue? ~ Nathanyel (talk) 17:49, February 20, 2010 (UTC)
He is a Warrior (in-training), and Warriors are capable of wielding any weapons except wands and relics. Anduin is young, so I can see how Bolvar and his tutors would focus more on his archery and defensive swordplay than offensive melee like his father. (and as the comics show, he's more than capable of just using his two swords) If you had a kid, would you risk having him in the enemy's face, or safe at a distance with a bow? I'd give him the bow.--Blayaden (talk) 03:25, February 22, 2010 (UTC)

Becoming a Paladin?

Could Anduin become a Paladin in Honour of Bolvar Fordragon? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by ChroniclerXII (talk · contr).

While he sure honours him (and other important adults) he doesn't strike me as the type who goes "When I grow up, I wanna be just like <insert hero>!" ~ Nathanyel (talk) 21:40, August 24, 2010 (UTC)

Still it would be good considering the fact that the Paladins were once the most powerful warriors in the original alliance (the Alliance of Lordaeron) and they need strong warriors for the current Alliance. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by ChroniclerXII (talk · contr).

And what exact purpose would him becoming a paladin serve? Would it make him cooler? ~ Nathanyel (talk) 15:55, August 27, 2010 (UTC)

I'm just saying it would probably be a good choice for him and plus Having a Paladin for a future King would also make things more interesting for the storyline.-30 August 2010, ChroniclerXII

Well aside from your theory, there currently isn't anything suggesting that he is going to become one. No offense, but this section is pointless. You might as well have suggested that he MIGHT become a Worgen since he's standing near Greymane in the Cataclysm Beta... or that Sylvanas MIGHT become the next Lich King. This is a place to discuss things about the article; not make wild theories about a character that is already well established. If he decides to become a paladin, blizzard will make it so... until then, he's still what he is. (also, if he was going to become a paladin, his new model would look more... paladinish.)--Blayaden (talk) 02:31, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for removing my post, Nathan. I decided to put it back anyway.--Blayaden (talk) 13:44, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

During a quest in which you unmask a Twilight's Hammer infiltrator in the king's court, he puts a Priest-like Shield in his father to protect him from Major Samuelson's blows. Varian later gives his thanks to the player and says something about Anduin's priest abilities. Orisai (talk) 06:04, September 6, 2010 (UTC)

Now that sounds interesting... I wonder when he picked that up?--Blayaden (talk) 13:46, September 6, 2010 (UTC)
Here is the picture of it,but what does Varian says about his priest abilities? Sl2059 (talk) 14:06, September 6, 2010 (UTC)

Even with that photo, how can anyone be sure Anduin's a priest or if the photo is real? The photo doesn't have any comments that have Varian mention Anduin's possible priest abilities. If the photo is real and from beta, can Anduin be considered a priest just because he protected his father with one Power Word: Shield? I know from the comics, he can fight and use an bow which is something priests can't normally do. Could this be something that nobles are taught or have special trinkets that can do that type of thing. He technically shouldn't be labeled as a priest until there's a quest text that mentions it. Nightowl088 (talk) 13:32, September 7, 2010 (UTC)

Exactly. Ingame priests can't use bows and hunters can't heal (themselves) but that doesn't mean a human(oid) being cannot pick up and try to use a bow, or utilize some holy relic that enables them to tap into the powers of the Light even without years of study. Heck it could even be a red herring as Blizz noticed Anduin's growing popularity due to the comics, and on live servers he were to "simply" [Intervene] and parry that attack. ~ Nathanyel (talk) 15:22, September 7, 2010 (UTC)
I think this goes along the lines that NPC's are not restricted to player classes. As I recall, Ranger Lord Hawkspear has [Auto Shot], [Kick] as well as [Heroic Strike]. Does that make him a Hunter/Rogue/Warrior combo? Lor'themar Theron has a mass Charm ability... does that make him a Succubus? --Blayaden (talk) 15:59, September 7, 2010 (UTC)
Absolutely not... that would make Lor'themar Theron an Incubus. =P Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 20:45, September 7, 2010 (UTC)

Player classes are limited for the sake of game mechanics. If lore were followed, Night Elf priestesses could wear leather and wield bows, and Forsaken priests would only be able to spec into the shadow tree. This doesn't apply to NPCs though; Blizzard doesn't have to balance them for PvP. Synchronizor (talk) 22:41, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

I forget where I heard this, but people seem to think that Anduin will grow up being the prince Arthas could've been were it not for Frostmourne and all that fun undead stuff. Now to read too much into this...maybe his class will be some kind of healing Hero Class? :O Saberd of The Shattered Sun (talk) 14:45, September 8, 2010 (UTC)

I remember reading something similar or probably the same in a thread on mmo-champion, it was a user speculating this though. I wouldn't compare him to Arthas though, that kid was too ambitious even without his quest for Frostmourne. ~ Nathanyel (talk) 22:13, September 8, 2010 (UTC)

This is a video confirming his skills as a priest: Sl2059 (talk) 19:40, September 22, 2010 (UTC)

In the Prequest to Twilight Highlands in Stormwind,It is revealed he is a priest, after he protects his father from the faceless disguised as Samuelson,Varian says "I've underestimated how much Anduin has grown, his command of the holy light just saved my life,if not the entire kingdom.",7:26 on 720P quality, full screen, from the quest log.combine it with the image I added before as a reference(although it can also be seen in the video a few seconds before the time I specified),it is telling you he is a priest. He is also wielding a wand. Sl2059 (talk) 21:42, September 22, 2010 (UTC)
Ok.. Holy Light, so there's many types of soldiers of the light. Doesn't mean he's a priest. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 21:48, September 22, 2010 (UTC)

I have a question. In Wolfheart Velen took Anduin with him, so should be "Blood of Our Fathers" before Wolfheart as he is again in Stormwind?--Mordecay (talk) 10:35, 16 October 2011 (UTC)Blood of Our Fathers is after Wolfheart since Genn Greymane is at the keep and it notes that the disagreement between them that happened in Wolfheart. Blood of Our fathers takes place with Anduin returning to Stormwind City after his journey with Velen like he promised at the end of the book. (Sports72Xtrm (talk))

Thanks for explanation! --Mordecay (talk) 11:51, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
I don't think he's offically back at the end of "Blood of our Fathers". I'm going to have to read it again, but I got the feel that it is more of a "home for the holidays" kind of thing, since there is no mention of how long time has passed.AndrahFia (talk) 18:35, 3 November 2011 (UTC)

Higher Role

Becoming the next Archbishop? ^^

IconSmall Hamuul.gif Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 10:42, 30 October 2011 (UTC)

Doubt it. Remember that the human kingdoms are still quite feudal in nature. Varian will want his son to succeed him on the throne of Stormwind/the Alliance. He understands Anduin is not the melee fighter he is, so he lets the boy try out other stuff, bows, the Light... in Varian's eyes, just a phase until Anduin's attention shifts to something else. But in the end, he expects his heir to follow him in ruling. If he's "not around anymore" to enforce this himself, his advisors and generals probably are instructed to do that.
Besides, the question of the next Archbishop is too immediate, and Anduin too young and inexperienced for such a position. ~ Nathanyel (talk) 11:55, 30 October 2011 (UTC)

Voice actor.

He sounds just like Yuri Lowenthal. Is there a way to check anywhere if it actually is him so we can say it in the article? Reign (talk) 09:04, 12 October 2012 (UTC)

I just checked sites that would have that information up(Wikipedia and IMDb) and I saw nothing that says or suggests that he voices Anduin. Though the sites may just not been updated with that information. However if that is true it makes me think we have entered the Twilight Zone, where Sasuke Uchiha(Naruto) advocates peace. --Sairez (talk) 19:16, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
Lowenthal usually plays the teen hero role, Sasuke's actually a bit of an odd one for him :p But if you listen to Ben from Ben 10 or Simon from Gurren Lagann, you can definitely hear them in Anduin's voice in MoP. Reign (talk) 02:06, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
Not sure why my post was undone. I'm new so I'm not sure about the format and procedure here. Anduin Wrynn is voiced by Josh Keaton as confirmed by IMDB and various postings he's made on his facebook fan page and twitter. He also plays Valerian Mengsk in SCII and you can clearly hear it's the same actor. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Frindokins (talk · contr).
First off, posts on the talk page never get removed. Secondly, if you know who Anduin's voice actor is, that info can be added to the trivia section on the main page and finally, don't forgot to sign your username with four tildes (~). --CogHammer.gifDoomeЯ TBattlegroup RoundIcon.pngC 18:44, 12 March 2013 (UTC)

Yes it is. It's in The Shattering.Reign (talk) 09:29, 5 December 2012 (UTC)

The page is in dire need of cleanup. Much of the text focuses more on Varian than Anduin, and sections -- such as the one for the novel Stormrage -- barely seem to be English. I don't own the comics *or* the novel so I'm not the best person for the job, but looking at the page I'd say the need was dire. Lostdrewid (talk) 07:09, 17 August 2013 (UTC)

That book is funny. It calls Anduin human prince and Alliance prince -.- --Mordecay (talk) 11:08, 30 December 2014 (UTC)

Removal of Taria

Just to be clear, Metzen declared the movie non-canon on a Blizzcon so Taria shouldn´t be included in the infoboxes, no? We dont have Finnall in Daelin´s box (not sure why Tandred is there though). However, if the name is canon (that would need a confirmation from Blizzard) and her appearance from the movie is non-canon, then lets have only her name there without link.--Mordecay (talk) 21:35, 15 February 2015 (UTC)

Where did he declare the movie non-canon?--SWM2448 21:53, 15 February 2015 (UTC)
Not sure of the when, but Metzen said the movie would be its own canon, like MSU is a separate universe of the Marvel Multiverse. Blizzcon, maybe?Unholy Cemotucu (talk contribs) 22:35, 15 February 2015 (UTC)
Blizzcon 2013, where Metzen compared the film to the Ultimate Marvels (also mentioned on the film´s page). Those are non-canon for the "main Marvel universe". They have their own continuities. Or do you think that the floating Dalaran and brown frostwolves during the First War are our new lore? And here is the source for the marvel part - [1] --Mordecay (talk) 22:37, 15 February 2015 (UTC)
Yeah just found the video. It is the Movie Panel of Blizzcon 2013: Metzen says the movie will feature the same story in a broad sense, but not the same details.Unholy Cemotucu (talk contribs) 22:47, 15 February 2015 (UTC)

Unless and until Blizzard explicitly states that the Taria character from the WarCraft movie-verse is to be considered main canon as well, she should not be listed as a relative. -- Alayea (talk / contrib) 21:19, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

The Compass and Son of the Wolf (present) timeline?

Is there any source directly saying that content from 7.2 happens before the Son of the Wolf (present)? I always thought that the the Son of the Wolf took place sometime after the Broken Shore but before the Nighthold fell.--X59 (talk) 00:27, 17 April 2017 (UTC)

The clue is with Shalamayne. Anduin reclaims the weapon in the 7.2's story questline. The comic portrays him already with the weapon. So there's probably no direct source. --Mordecay (talk) 00:39, 17 April 2017 (UTC)
