While the Aldor and Scryers were always rivals until the Sunwell, vying for the favor of the Naaru at the expense of the other, since when did the Argent Crusade and KotEB have "differences?" Yes, obviously they have a difference in style and outlook, but haven't they been open allies all along? I mean, they were both formed at the exact same moment in the same place (Light's Hope after the battle), and were helping each other in the Zul'Drak and Icecrown questlines. Tirion saved all their souls, and Darion saved Tirion. How is this faction changing anything with their relations? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Truckman1 (talk · contr).

I suppose it's just a formal alliance now instead of a "we sort of help each other out here and there" affair. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 01:06, November 6, 2009 (UTC)
They didn't agree on how to conquer the Valley of Echoes, so before this point their disagreed on tactics, but guess they've found one that suits them both. TherasTaneel (talk) 01:10, November 6, 2009 (UTC)
Darion and Tirion did not see eye to eye on the general strategy for the battle against the Lich King. Tirion believes that they should conduct themselves with honor at all times, while Darion is of the opinion that honor will not defeat the Lich King because he (LK) does not have any, and scorns Tirion's rigid adherence to the Light. As death knights, the Ebon Blade knows the inner workings of the Scourge better than anyone, even the Forsaken, and Tirion knows he will need more than his coliseum champions to win against Arthas. Hence the "setting aside of differences" thing. --Joshmaul (talk) 22:45, November 15, 2009 (UTC)

Which one is it?[]

The article and Blizzard's own site claim that the Verdict is a military alliance, but the quote and image on this page seem to state that it is an alliance of craftsmen only. So, which one is it? INV Misc Orb 04Xavius, the Satyr Lord 14:16, November 14, 2009 (UTC)

Lorewise it is an army of the better heroes finaly ready to strike the Lich King. In-game, you'll find only recipe from the quartermaster.
The image was choosen quite randomly, since we cannot find any tabard/emblem.

Yes, but Darion still says (if the quote is real) that the Verdict is "a select group of the most talented craftsmen in the Ebon Blade and the Argent Crusade". No mention of a military pact. INV Misc Orb 04Xavius, the Satyr Lord 17:20, November 14, 2009 (UTC)
I think that it might be both. While the NPCs and such are sort of the craftsmen, we (and all the guys standing on guard and the like) are the military kind of guys. We go out and beat up stuff in ICC while they forge stuff for us. Either that or just another of Blizz's fail at consistencies. He's got a point - Blizzard often says one thing and it ends up being another thing. Like not having the ability to race/faction change, not now, not ever - and yet here we are with the ability to race/faction change...now THAT is consistency. --Joshmaul (talk) 21:05, November 18, 2009 (UTC)
From the new Shadowmourne preview: "In a relentless quest to arm the forces of the living against the Scourge, Darion Mograine has formed the Ashen Verdict, a union between the most skilled craftsmen of the Argent Crusade and the Ebon Blade." Yes, it appears they have, in fact, changed their minds about the verdict. INV Misc Orb 04Xavius, the Satyr Lord 08:01, November 19, 2009 (UTC)

Reputation[]

I'm going to ask a very noob question as I don't have much experience with the WotLK and all its contents, I'm still learning.

Are there quests for gaining reputation with the Ashen Verdict or is reputation gained only from certain instances? If there are quests would it not be a good idea for someone in the know to add a reputation section showing the quest chain as we have with most other factions? --Lyco 06:38, February 3, 2010 (UTC)

Reputation with the Ashen Verdict is earned solely by killing things in Icecrown Citadel. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 06:46, February 3, 2010 (UTC)
I thought as much, thanks. --Lyco 07:03, February 3, 2010 (UTC)
