Sections without names

I didn't want to delete this other posting out of hand. But all the data I've collected over the last few months disagrees with the levels listed in the table. Most notably, the Grey Level as I called it only changes every 10 levels between 10 and 40, which is clearly different than the posted formula here (every 5 levels across the board). -- Greenman
It seems strange that the range of levels for which you can still get XP (there needs to be a term for this) should increase so slowly between levels 10 and 40; it seems as if there would be a great deal of "catching up" to do after that if it is to reach its maximum size of 12 by the time a character is level 60. As a level 60 Warlock who is often hard-pressed to find a source of Soul Shards, however, I can confirm that the Grey Level for a 60th-level character is 47 (i.e. you can get Shards from anything 48+; the "Shard band" is 12 levels wide by then). It is very clear that this table is currently wrong(after TBC). I'm a level 70 and 61 mobs at Hellfire Peninsula are grey to me.--Cokewentflat 11:16, 28 March 2007 (EDT)
Table still wrong?

The table should be corrected, at level 70, mobs are green down to level 62. Anything level 61 or below is grey. WiredLain
XP -> cash at 70/80
There seems to be a fixed translation between experience and cash at 70. Could someone add that to this page? --Eirik Ratcatcher 23:49, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- Doing some random experience versus gold comparisons at level 70 I have found the following general trend:
Experience/1.66666666666 = Copper Reward
- This is however not 100% accurate, but it puts you in the right ballpark.

- XP/1.666... is equivalent to XP*3/5. The result however is 10 times to small. From quests in Category:Quests at 79 and looking at the data in Wowhead, the exact formula for WotLK (nov 2009, patch 3.2.0) works out to
Reward at lvl 80 in copper = (XP*30)/5 = XP*6
Aren't these formulae overly complicated? As far as I can tell ROUND(Full_Quest_XP * x / 5) * 5 is equal to ROUND(Full_Quest_XP * x). Can someone check this and confirm or point out why I'm mistaken please? --Adre.dutoit 10:18, 14 May 2007 (EDT)

I realize that this is under the heading Formulas: but I think it would help to verbalize somewhere that quests receive full xp reward, regardless of level, until they are gray.
- “You get full experience for everything but gray quests. Gray means that you'll get less experience for every level that the quest has been gray.”
And then discuss the decay rate of gray-quest xp. Perhaps the narrative info properly belongs elsewhere?

XP to gold at level cap
Does anyone know the formula for how XP turns to gold at the level cap? And would that be better on this page, or on a separate page? -- Rmunn 11:17, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
This is a significant XP gain for non-level-capped players. I cannot find information on this anywhere. Questions like whether exploration experience is gained based on player level, zone level (range?) or some equation. At level 81 I received between 4k and 7k for each sub-zone of Uldum. XP Bonuses Available
In addition to Rest (+100% XP for non-quest XP earned), there are now a number of XP bonuses available that might be good to add to the XP page. Recruit-A-Friend 90 day bonus (+200%), Wrath Heirloom gear (+10% each for Shoulders and Chest), Guild Level bonus (+5% at Guild Level 2 or 10% at Guild Level 6), and Guild Reward Heirloom Gear (+5% for Back available at Guild Level 10, and +10% for Head available at Guild Level 20). Excluding Rest (which does not benefit quest XP) and the Recruit-A-Friend bonus (which won't be used often), there is a possible +45% XP bonus available. That's gonna be some fast leveling! Experience-To-Gold Conversion at level 85
On the page, it says "In this case the normal gold reward a quest may give is not awarded. However, the xp to gold conversion always results in a larger gold reward than the normal gold reward."
However, when I take random quests in Twilight Highlands or Kelpthar Forest and use the Cataclysm formula given, I consistently arrive at an amount lower than the normal gold reward.
Does this indicate the normal gold reward is added to the converted experience gold, or is the formula wrong, or is the statement that it will always be higher inaccurate?
