Talk:Nightmare dragonflight

This is my own fault, but I'd completely forgotten about the Dragons of Nightmare. As the source uses the term "Nightmare Dragons," I'm beginning to suspect that it might actually be them that feature, not a whole dragonflight. At the least, it might be best to hold off on the article (which I admit I created without checking - sorry :().--Hawki (talk) 00:09, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

I believe Dragons of Nightmare refers only to the bosses. The dragons in Legion are a bunch of green dragons corrupted to the point they aren't even green anymore, so a new article makes sense. The only thing I'm not sure about is the name, I don't think "Nightmare dragonflight" was ever used by Blizzard during Blizzcon even if it does make sense.ReignTG (talk) 00:38, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
FWIW, judging by these three NPCs, it seems like we'll be seeing the return of some familiar faces in the Emerald Nightmare raid... -- IconSmall TrollDeathKnight Male.gif DeludedTroll (talkcontribs) 16:21, 27 November 2015 (UTC)

Merge with Dragons of Nightmare

As with the comments above, this is not an actual dragonflight. It is just the 4 corrupted dragons in the new Dragons of Nightmare encounter. You can see concept art and pictures of the game models used for the encounter during the BlizzCon 2015 World and Content Overview Panel. --Aquamonkeyeg (talk) 18:43, 19 December 2016 (UTC)

Well, for what it's worth there are also ones like Shar'thos and Dresaron that could fit the description given on this page. -- IconSmall TrollDeathKnight Male.gif DeludedTroll (talkcontribs) 18:44, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
I see, I didn't know there were others using this model. --Aquamonkeyeg (talk) 18:48, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
Still I agree, the dragons of Nightmare are Nightmare dragons, so their article should be incorporated into this one. -- MyMindWontQuiet (talk) 14:18, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
No, the Dragons of Nightmare are four specific dragons. The nightmare dragons are a race of mutant dragons.--SWM2448 19:24, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
How does that prevent the merge ? The four specific dragons, the Dragons of Nightmare, are still nightmare dragons. However the latter's page is nearly empty, so it'd make sense to merge the two articles to get one complete article with a few sections (Background, the Dragons of Nightmare, Others), or something along those lines. -- MyMindWontQuiet (talk) 22:04, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
It prevents the merge because they are separate topics. One is an old set of four raid encounters that became one raid encounter, the other is a race. If the old raid encounter talked about their red and glowing biology, then it could be on this page too.--SWM2448 22:07, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
I'm talking about all the lore of this article, not the encounter(s). -- MyMindWontQuiet (talk) 22:19, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
What of that applies to the nightmare dragonflight?--SWM2448 22:23, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
I'm against a merge. One is a page about four individuals, the other is about their race. It's like how we don't merge the "Four Horsemen" and "Deaht knight" pages. Xporc (talk) 22:40, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
Strip it down further, it makes all corrupted green dragons into "nightmare dragons" synonymous with these new red skeleton guys, as nothing besides their status as raid bosses really makes their situation unique.--SWM2448 22:47, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
Something along the lines of "Nightmare dragonflight / Background : The first dragons corrupted by the Emerald Nightmare were Lethon, Emeriss.. ". Basically the whole Background section should be part of this article here. -- MyMindWontQuiet (talk) 01:10, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
Eranikus, Dreamscythe, Weaver, Hazzas, Morphaz...--SWM2448 03:01, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
Oh yeah I agree that the story of these guys should be mentioned in the nightmare dragonflight article. Wish the new Legion nightmare dragons looked more like green dragons to be honest. Xporc (talk) 08:34, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
This is what I was trying to express. I don't know, I like that they're red, their original iteration didn't scream Nightmare-corrupted to me, just a bunch of indifferentiable green fellas. -- MyMindWontQuiet (talk) 08:38, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
I just dislike their mouth and muzzle, they look like another race entirely (like the Thorignir) instead of corrupted dragons. Xporc (talk) 08:46, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
Yeah I can understand that, in the concept art these traits were even more pronounced, you wouldn't have liked it. -- MyMindWontQuiet (talk) 09:51, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
I agree with Sandwichman on this one. I don't think it helps the clarity of these three related pages to merge them. PeterWind (talk) 13:26, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

I'm very much against such a merge, since Dragons of Nightmare is about a specific group of world bosses. However, I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to moving their history bits to Nightmare dragonflight and focusing Dragons of Nightmare entirely on the raid encounters. -- DarkTZeratul (talk) 05:13, 1 March 2017 (UTC)

I agree. -- Alayea (talk / contrib) 05:16, 1 March 2017 (UTC)
If that happens, it should talk about the history of corrupted green dragons (which I still say are different), not a copy/paste that makes this page talk about the four bosses as characters.--SWM2448 05:20, 1 March 2017 (UTC)
Absolutely agreed. -- DarkTZeratul (talk) 05:35, 1 March 2017 (UTC)
Agreed. --Mordecay (talk) 11:08, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
