Talk:Quest lists by zone

Just what I always wanted

This is an excellent idea and extremely useful. When players come to WoWWiki looking up a specific sub-region/sub-zone, more often than not it's probably to see what's worth looking up or doing in that area. If we make this comprehensive, it will, for instance, make it possible upon discovering a new area where you have a quest or two to simply look up that area and see if there are any other quests you should pick up before going in. Conversely, it will also be useful for zones that have little to nothing going on in them, because the player doesn't have to wonder if they missed anything. Nunuka 01:24, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

Quest list work to be done

NOTE: This has all been moved to WoWWiki:Quest list project. Please continue discussion there and on it's talk page. --Jiyambi t || c 07:20, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

Below is a list of "<zone_name> quests" pages that need work organized by the type of updates needed. The Thousand Needles quests should be used as a basis for mixed-faction final format. Use Teldrassil quests as a basis fo single faction final format.

Use <strike></strike> around fixed article links: Deadwind Pass quests

Needs to be started (empty or almost no content)

We might as well include the Karazhan starting quests for Deadwind, especially since there isn't anything else. -- Dark T Zeratul 07:00, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

Needs a large chunk of quests added (missing a faction, usually)

Needs new table format organization

Quests should be separated into Alliance, Horde, and Neutral quest tables (columns: inzone/chain, Quest Name, Quest Giver, and Subzone).

Example boilerplate wikitext for new table format

This is a list of all <zone_name> quests in table format (arranged by level).

<!-- Include below link to questing guide only if it exists. -->
For a questing guide detailing the best order to obtain and complete quests in <zone_name>, see <zone_name> questing guide.

Quest Tables
Quests which take place in <zone_name> are denoted by a Inzone.

Quests which are part of a chain are denoted by Chain. Click the downward arrow to the right of the icon to view the chain.

The other quests listed either send the player out of the zone; or are in quest chains related to <zone_name>, categorized as such, but take place out of the zone.

Needs inzone markers

Needs notable quest chains

Needs chain markers in tables
