In the Basement of the SI:7 HQ, there is a statue of Horatio Montgomery, M.D. with a date on it "50 BTFT - 25 ATFT". Now, I'm willing to bet the first 2 acronyms mean "Before The" and "After The" but I wanna know what F____ T____ is. Fictional history is my favorite subject and I need info on this :). -Evilpyro

I reckon that BTFT probably means 'Before The Frozen Throne' while ATFT probably means 'After The Frozen Throne'. Mr. peasant 06:02, 25 March 2007 (EDT)
We're in Burning Crusade between 4 ATFT and 9 ATFT, how could he die in 25 ATFT ? So it's not for Frozen Throne... Whisperfrost 16:58, 12 June 2007 (EDT)
I blame Nozdormu. Somehow. --Xavius 08:55, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
It does not work for a real-life memorial also.--SWM2448 21:48, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Elling Trias as a member..?

I spotted Trias's name in the list, and I don't think this is accurate, I'd be more likely to say that he is a Stormwind Assassin, based on Shaw's comments in If he was SI:7, Shaw would not ask the player to keep Trias's name out of their report, even as a "Oh and this man had some information on the mission too" type of heroic recognition. A SA is to keep their formal membership compleatly secret, and Trias only directs players when proof that they can be trusted is produced.--Mondoblasto 00:02, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Elling might have connections but he might not be actually a member... D Long ownz U (talk) 02:06, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

Stormwind Assassins and the SI:7

I posted this on the Stormwind Assassins discussion page, but I'll post it here too. What is the difference between the SI:7 and the Stormwind Assassins? They have the same goal (assassins guild working for Stormwind), members in the same places (Elwynn, Redridge, Westfall), and the same leader (Mathias Shaw). Isn't it the same organization with different names then? Or perhaps "Stormwind Assassins" was retconned into "SI:7"? Nith (talk) 15:30, 3 May 2011 (UTC)

As far as we know, they may be the same, but there hasn't been any confirmation. In World of Warcraft no mention of the Stormwind Assassins exist, only the SI:7 exists. They are probably the same, but since we have no sources telling us they are, they stay as two different articles. :)

Alright, that's what I thought. But in that case, maybe be can at least put a "speculation" section on both page to note the similitudes, and to say that they may be the same? Nith (talk) 12:43, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
Exactly! When looking at the pages, I thought it strange that someone hadn't added it already (I was pretty sure that it had once been there, but it would seem I was wrong). Feel free to make a speculation-section.

I feel like the SI7 and Stormwind Assassins pages should be merged. We don't maintain separate pages for Strahnbrad and "Strombrad", Silvermoon City and "Silvermoon", etc. The names changed between the RPG and the game, but the core concept is still the same. I would be in favor if we knew that the Assassins and the SI:7 are the same organization. See speculations. Stormwind Assassins were mentioned twice (The Comic & an in-game letter) in canon but the relation with the SI:7, except Mathias Shaw being in both, is unknown. --Mordecay (talk) 11:40, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
These speculations were written by people who never read the original Lands of Conflict, merely excerpts on the wiki. If you crack open the book at page 168 you can see that the Stormwind Assassins are something major and glamorous to the population of Stormwind, with many kids becoming thieves in order to try to join the group, and with the Cathedral of Light having to flip-flop between recognizing their services and not condoning assassinations.
The Stormwind Assassins were not a small group of people, they were a major organization of the Alliance led by Mathias Shaw with over 2500 people. If that sounds familiar, it's because it's the exact same thing as the SI:7. I don't see the in-game letter and comics as reasons enough to keep both pages separate, especially in light of Legion not mentioning the Assassins once when the Uncrowned even had obscure people like the Hand of Chaos dude. Xporc (talk) 12:35, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
With the de-canonization of the RPG books, we don't know if they are the same things in canon, tho. --Mordecay (talk) 12:43, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
Yeah well I opened up the comic and there are no proofs either that the Stormwind's Assassin Guild are the same organization as the Stormwind Assassins. The Stormwind Assassins organization lore have to be put on the SI:7 page, the stuff about the Stormwind Assassin's Guild can stay out for all I care. Xporc (talk) 12:57, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
Ok I was gonna say that I'm still uncertain since LoC doesn't mention the term SI:7 and given the discussion above our comments, but after reconsidering... as long as the canon version, Stormwind Assassin's (Assassins') Guild stays around, I'm ok with the merge (with appropriate intro wording). The Assassins were wery likely meant to be the background of what is now SI:7. --Mordecay (talk) 13:31, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
That's also what I believe. I apologize for needlessly being hostile in my choice of words, I don't know what took over me ... Xporc (talk) 13:34, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
