"I" iconSeptember 2006: As per the recent race names vote at Wowpedia talk:Writing policy#Race name case, the correct race name spelling is "troll" and not "Troll"

Unique model image[]

I'd vote for the model viewer version, for the sole reason of, the model is the main attraction, gives a better view of it, with no background or weapon held in hand. Gets straight to the point. I also did the same on the forest troll and ice troll pages already. WarGodZajru (talk) 20:23, 7 April 2017 (UTC)

I personally think it creates unnecessary redundancy. I don't really even think it's necessary to have images of unique character models on those characters' respective race pages; they are, after all, unique and specifically made to stand out from generic members of their race, and therefore differ from how the vast majority of said race is represented in-game. Even if we put images of unique models on race pages, while a model viewer image does give a clearer view, the regular in-game screenshot conveys about as much information and it doesn't generally seem like we make model viewer images of unique character models. If we make transparent model viewer images of Kazra'jin or Sul just to highlight "this is what one specific unique forest troll/sand troll model looks like", then there's no reason to not do the same thing for Thrall on the orc page, Arthas, Jaina, Varian, Terenas and Anduin on the human page, etc., and that's just a bit silly IMO. -- IconSmall TrollDeathKnight Male DeludedTroll (talkcontribs) 20:31, 7 April 2017 (UTC)
I get what you're saying, though I did have another reason for when I did the forest troll and ice troll pages. Unlike the sand trolls, whom were given a clearer representative with the model revamp, as their skin was included, both the forest/ice trolls have old, outdated models. Hence I uploaded the unique boss models simply because, "this is what a forest/ice troll might've looked like with today's standards", which, wasn't exactly needed for sand trolls. So while I agree that the sand trolls' might be a bit redundant, the forest and ice trolls should keep theirs, just for the sake of "here's a more accurate representation of what they look like in HD", compared to models from TBC and WotLK. Understandable, but I think it's easier to just use the in-game screenshot instead of having two images of the same thing with the only reason being that one of the two gives a clearer view of the subject's physical appearance. -- IconSmall TrollDeathKnight Male DeludedTroll (talkcontribs) 20:45, 7 April 2017 (UTC)
Not anymore, now that the model viewer images are already in place, showing off them hot troll bods. :')
Serious note though, I'd still say keep the model viewer images, not only because they're already added, but as I brought up earlier, better view of their full figure. The normal troll model's hunch removes literally 28% of their entire height (after the revamp at least, before it was 32%), and their postures in the model viewer images are upright, which naturally is just a better pose to be viewed in.
