Terrordale is a ghost town due to being within one an area with one of the highest concentrations of Scourge, nestled in the northwest corner of Eastern Plaguelands. It lies in the westernmost section of Plaguewood (although the trees here are in a better state), near the entrance to the tunnel that leads to the banks of the Thondroril River.

It was previously haunted by Terrordale Spirits, with green auras permeating the ground as the physical world buckled under the torment of the spirit realm. Paladins eventually exorcised the tormenting spirits out of the area.

Speculation

This article or section includes speculation, observations or opinions possibly supported by lore or by Blizzard officials. It should not be taken as representing official lore.

Just as the town of Darkshire was once called Grand Hamlet, Terrordale likely had a much less morbid name before the invasion of the Scourge. Based on its location in the Plaguelands, and the presence of Northdale, which is to the north, another possible name is Eastdale or Westdale. It could also be the RPG location of Cinderhome.
