The Dreadwake and  [Cap'n Crackers] set out from Booty Bay
The Dreadwake

The Dreadwake is a promotional pirate ship mount offered in celebration of International Talk Like a Pirate Day 2018, that started on September 19, 2018.

True to nautical tradition, the Dreadwake pirate ship mount has a unique figurehead inspired by an unknown kraken-faced god of the deeps. It’s the perfect way to cruise through Azeroth in true buccaneering style.[1]

This item is part of a game time bundle promotion in celebration of International Talk Like a Pirate Day, which grants the mount itself and 180 days of game time for $77.94 USD (price will differ in adjusted local currencies for Canada, Japan, and New Zealand). Players who had already purchased the 180 days of game time service within the 30 days prior to September 19, 2018 (approx August 19, 2018, and after), or currently have a 6-month recurring subscription, also automatically received the mount at no additional charge. The offer lasts until October 21, 2018, and the mount must be claimed in the Blizzard desktop app (gift box icon in the upper right-hand corner of the launcher) or from Blizzard's website (accessible from the Account drop down menu) before April 30, 2019.

Once the promotion ends, the mount will eventually be available by itself in the Blizzard Shop and In-Game Shop sometime in 2019.[1]

Mount Journal

A ship unlike any other, held aloft by a gift from an unknown kraken-faced god of the deeps.

Notes and trivia

  • Like most current mounts, it is account-wide.
  • It is a flying mount, with its speed based on the riding skill of the character using it.
  • Wing spars on the sides enable navigation during flight.
  • It makes a unique bell toll when mounting, appears/disappears with a splash of water and /mountspecial causes the Dreadwake to move back a couple yards and fire twice from its forward double cannons.
  • It was announced alongside the parrot companion  [Cap'n Crackers] in a video.[1][2]
  • It uses the same model skeleton as the  [Stormwind Skychaser].
