The Lost Vikings franchise was one of the first game series created by Silicon & Synapse (later Blizzard Entertainment). It was a humorous puzzle-platform video game franchise, with the first game having been originally released for the Super NES in 1993. In The Lost Vikings, the player controlled three separate vikings with different abilities. The three vikings had to work together to finish each level and find their way back home. A sequel, The Lost Vikings 2, was released in 1997.

In 2014, the first game was added to Battle.net as a free download which is emulated through DOSBox.[1] The first game was re-released in its originals and definitive versions in the Blizzard Arcade Collection on 19 Februrary 2021 with the second game later added on 13 April 2021 in only its original version.[2]
