A tidal guardian in World of Warcraft.

Tidal guardians are huge, wormlike creatures found in Nazjatar.

During the period following the Third War, Illidan's Naga used stationary tidal guardians as defensive structures able to spit lightning at enemies.

Tidal guardians are great serpents that patrol the waters around Nazjatar.[1] Tidal guardians are tube wyrm captured and trained by the naga. They serve the naga as defenders (particularly in Nazjatar), though this strategy is not widespread. Tidal guardians is the term naga used for the trained tube wyrm.[2]

It consists of a pool containing a tube worm. Most of the time the tube worm hides inside the pool, but when enemies are near the serpent emerges and spits lightning bolts at the opponents.

They may have inspired later naga worms like Serpentrix. Though feral, it is a similar creature that lives in a series of holes.
