Redefined's goal in Wrath was stated shortly after the guild stopped raiding Burning Crusade content in mid-September. The controversial goal was to used the already developed core raiders from the Burning Crusade raids to form a more competent 10-man raiding guild. Redefined's guild mission in Wrath is to offer a casual, social and friendly raiding environment with a focus on clearing 10-man content efficiently.
Shortly after the expansion, there had been a small amount of controversial moves by the guild leadership. In one example, former officer Xelmd expressed dissatisfaction with the newly released guild raiding schedule, expressing to Carringtaun that he, Xelmd, would be unable to raid and that he felt that he also was never listened to by guild leadership, even when he was an officer, and things haven't changed since Burning Crusade. Carringtaun then promptly removed Xelmd from the guild stating to Xelmd that "Things have changed, because before I wouldn't do this." This was looked at as a good move, as Xelmd was viewed as a pretentious whiner, even back when he was officer and this was a cathartic move as Xelmd was the last "baddie" to be removed from or leave Redefined from the Is Trash merger.
Even from the beginning of Wrath, Redefined was a very successful 10-man guild. While most methods of measuring this are unreliable, Redefined was ranked in the top five 10-man raiding guilds on Blackrock. This is a feat due to the fact that most of the measurements for 10-man progression included the progression of 25-man guilds in 10-man content. If those guilds who were assisted to their standing in 10-man progression by 25-man geared players were removed, it could be speculated that Redefined was the second ranked 10-man only guild on Blackrock (and ranked number one on Blackrock's Alliance faction).
Despite the period of success in Naxxramas and Ulduar, there was an emerging problem in late summer of 2009. Leading up to BlizzCon 2009, there was a drop in attendance by both tanks and healers. This made it extremely difficult to consistently raid Ulduar as it had been in the past. As a result, when the Argent Crusade content had been released, there was much difficulty in forming raids--many of the progression-oriented players in Redefined became uneasy. The situation did not get any better after BlizzCon as there were still many missed raids and several key spots to fill. Once the holidays came around, Carringtaun decided to take a break from the stress of trying to keep Redefined together.
When Carringtaun came back, he noticed that there were many people who had moved to the new guild Cadenza. While upset with the prospect of no longer raiding with those who he had played with for years, he knew that it was for the best that those interested in raiding had the ability to do so. Still, Redefined is the home for many of the alternate characters of those who moved on to Cadenza.
Currently there are no plans for a Redefined raiding revival in Cataclysm.

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade[]

For a while after the Burning Crusade's launch, Redefined was not an active guild. The guild name was kept only for those who played casually or didn't join Icemann's new guild, Scholars & Gentlemen. Once Scholars & Gentlemen disbanded, many members of Scholars left to find other opportunities with other high-end raiding guilds; others stopped raiding altogether. Most of those who stopped raiding and decided to play casually migrated back to Redefined.
At the time, Redefined was a guild that had no focus on any sort of 25-man raiding. During this time, Redefined was focused mainly on 10-man content and easily cleared Karazhan on a weekly basis. Besides from this, Redefined had formed a few close-knit PvP teams and actively PvP'd and did Arenas. Upon the release of Zul'Aman, the guild shifted it's focus from Karazhan and quickly swept through Zul'Aman. Carringtaun claims that Redefined was the one of the first guilds on Blackrock to fully clear Zul'Aman, but there is no evidence of this.
After months of clearing Karazhan and Zul'Aman, the members of Redefined had no challenges and no incentive to do any more 10-man raiding. After a short deliberation with guild members, it would be decided that Redefined would start to progress in 25-man raids. The transition from 10 to 25 man raiding led to an alliance with the guild Stark Fist of Removal. Both guilds worked together to kill Magtheridon, but from Redefined's point of view, the relationship would not work for more complex 25-man raids which needed more focused leadership under one guild. From this, Redefined launched a lukewarm recruiting campaign. After unsuccessful negotiation with The Burning Souls for a merger into Redefined, Redefined was stuck looking for a large amount of members in the competitive market of Karazhan-geared members looking to do 25-man raiding.
In early June 2008, the guild bank of is Trash was plundered by a member of it's own guild. In response, Dabuwey, the guild master of "is Trash", approached Annimal with the offer to merge the guilds together as Redefined. Later that day, Carringtaun decided that the offer was acceptable, and the merger was approved. Dabuwey was granted the role of officer and was given the opportunity to choose a single officer, he chose Thedict. Later, Dabuwey changed his decision for his officer due to Thedict's poor raid attendance, and he chose Xelmd instead. After a short amount of time, Xelmd too would be demoted from officer due to his temper and verbal insults to guild members.
The guild did have many successful milestones. The guild cleared all of Serpentshrine Cavern and The Eye with much ease, and decided it would be prudent to focus attention on killing Lady Vashj. The attempts on Lady Vashj were met with mixed success, and it was decided that it would be wise to shift more focus away from SSC and move exclusively into the Battle for Mount Hyjal and the Black Temple. Within a matter of weeks, Redefined cleared up to Archimonde and cleared three bosses into Black Temple.
On Friday July 25th, with much controversy, Dabuwey was demoted from his officer position. It was decided by the other officers that Dabuwey's style of leading raids was verbally harsh and after weeks of being told that he needed to "calm down" or change his ways of leadership, he had not changed. This, coupled with the then recent incident of Dabuwey ninja looting a piece of loot in one of his PUG Sunwell Plateau runs made the officers uneasy and led to his demotion. Almost immediately after he was demoted, he left the guild. Talks and negotiations of him returning fell through, as he felt that he was entitled to an officer position (which would not be given back to him) and that he felt the main drive behind his demotion was intra-guild politics revolving around Xelmd. Carringtaun and the other officers deny any wrongdoing, and do not cite intra-guild politics as a reason for his demotion. Nonetheless, Dabuwey is still uninterested in rejoining Redefined and has resurrected his former guild The Whole Enchallada as a casual guild. Up to 9 days of his departure from Redefined, several people left Redefined to join Dabuwey. Notable players who followed him were Fruttyy and Decko.
Despite the guild's rough times, Redefined still managed to raid. Recruiting efforts were set up, but ultimately proved to be hit-or-miss; recruits tended to be either very fickle, and stopped showing to raids, or very dedicated, but became jaded at the fact that half the new members stopped showing up. Very good members that were recruited during this time, in turn, stopped showing up to raids. On September 11th, 2008, it would be decided that Redefined could not raid in it's current state, and that official guild activity would resume after the release of Wrath of the Lich King.
Up to the release of Wrath of the Lich King, members still did the occasional Zul'Aman and Kharazan.

Redefined was a PvE focused Alliance guild on the Blackrock server. Redefined was formed by a plethora of players; those handpicked from the then-disbanded guild Classic, and others looking for a place to start anew. The guild was chartered approximately June 4th, 2005. Up until it's decline, Redefined was very active in clearing Naxxramas and had made notable progress for it's time. The guild was made mostly of American players, with a few Austrailian players.
As of September 11th, 2006, Redefined took the last blow from a fickle raiding base. After almost a week of largely nonproductive raids, the guild had shown that it was no longer able to support itself. Many of the players left to various guilds, including HitSquad and Inquisition. Redefined was not disbanded this day, it just ceased to raid; the guild maintained a aestetic front which allowed members to interact on alternates or until a better option manifested itself.

Dorffie: Elected as an freshman officer July 23, 2006. Demoted to Raider status August 20th, 2006 by Guild Master Quirk.
Icemann: Reelected July 23, 2006, from an incumbant position, Icemann unofficially quit the guild on September 11th, 2006. In a farewell post he mentioned taking a break, implying about a month off but to come back at the Burning Crusade expansion.
Draugluhuin: Elected July 23, 2006, he was one of Redefined's most crucial tanks for the majority of his time in the guild. He quit the guild within days of the break up.
Other Guild Leaders[]
Medic: Medic was eventually an officer, but planned on leaving the guild to join Eminence. A few nights before his designated guild-switch, he left the guild early, as the other officers wouldn't let him take an item over a senior officer (Arane). The guild agreed this would have been a waste, and Medic was indeed a sneaky kike, attempting to "burn his DKP" before leaving.
Damadar: One of the first "unelected" officers, was given the title as PVP officer, but eventually made into a full officer. He eventually left to join Hitsquad and the aussie crew.
Arane: Another unelected officer. Arane was a source of bit of drama, mostly over speccing and gear issues. Arane was apparently the healer officer for the guild. He quit Redefined when he quit playing his druid, and started playing his rogue.
Matthew: Another unelected officer, Matthew really didn't have much of a say in anything. He did stick with redefined till the end until he transfer servers after it's disbanding.

Guild runs on 20-man raid instances were usually done once a week, although Zul'Gurub and Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj was no longer planned or run by guild leadership as a optional activity, they were usually planned and run by guild members as PUG or semi-PUG groups. Molten Core was no longer organized by guild leadership as part of the normal weekly raiding schedual.
Rezguise, the former guild master of Redefined, was the first player on the server to ring the Scarab Gong, opening the doors of Ahn'Qiraj for the Blackrock.

At the 2008 BlizzCon event, Redefined had a significant presence considering the guild's size. The following members attended BlizzCon 2008: Carringtaun, Yoriko, Kudoz, Vladario, Moriendra, Tronn, Twilightfang and Donish.
BlizzCon 2009[]
Redefined had a much larger presence at the 2009 BlizzCon event. Players who attended include: Carringtaun, Bonezism, Hartge, Yoriko, Kudoz, Vladario, Tronn, Moriendra, Mollie, Devrules and Twilightfang.
BlizzCon 2010[]
Redefined members Carringtaun, Bonezism, Devrules, Adalwufla, Lantrn, Twilightfang, Moriendra and Yoriko all made if for BlizzCon 2010.
BlizzCon 2011[]
This year could potentially have the greatest Redefined presence of all BlizzCon years. Members will likely include Carringtaun, Bonezism, Devrules, Adalwufla, Lantrn, Scannons, Twilightfang, and Yoriko.
