Boss quotes[]

You've been changing the grammar and punctuation on a lot of these. In many cases, what you're changing it to is wrong (you seem especially fond of randomly capitalizing words). Are you simply listening to the audio and transcribing it? Because what's currently written is what it says in the game, and that's what it should be. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 00:55, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

I've been listening to the audio and some is maybe not spelled correctly or missed a word. It's fine if you want to change it back. It's just the addon Bosstalk I'm all over and is not being updated or getting it fixed. I'm worried to get the site undivided attention to finished from what you started. I'm still not thrilled about empty space of npcs, areas and others you can think of. I'm a big fan of that ok, I'll admit it. Wish Endeavor kept the addon and continue with it throughout the series...But anyways, change whatever Blizzard had that was before it was change. Otherwise, shouldn't be too much of a problem. --Darksora110 (talk) 01:00, 26 July 2011
Please please please please please please PLEASE verify any future changes in-game. PLEASE. I can't stress this enough. I've undone dozens of changes you've made and I'm still not done. Also, please don't blank pages for loot chests; they're there for a reason. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 03:44, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

I have a question for you then. Do you even play World of Warcraft or do you just predict on everything that's going to be all right? I've dealt with many that hasn't play that game or know much about it. I'm just saying is go on youtube, play wow or go into the games data base and listen to the quotes yourself. If you think you got this site, then you won't need my help at this time. It's as simple as that.-- Darksora110 (talk) 05:00, 26 July 2011

I might ask the same of you, given how many quotes you've added that, by your own admission, you got from listening to the audio and never actually show up in the game. More distressing, though, are the number of quotes that you've edited for spelling or grammar, but made worse in the process. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 17:19, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

I notice you have a number of small edits. If you're editing a lot of things on one page and want to see how it looks, you may wish to use the "Show preview" button before saving the page to see that. Thanks! How do you get Images onto the site? I'm having a little trouble.-Darksora110

Hello, Darksora, I saw you post on my user talk about trial of the crusader and another raid. Can you tell me what images? -Rothil657

Boss quotes, redux[]

Once again, I must ask you to verify these in-game before you add them. You're obviously doing so solely by extracting the audio files, and as a result the lines you're adding are A) badly misspelled, B) often completely wrong due to your attempt at interpreting the troll accent, and C) frequently including lines that have audio but are never actually displayed in-game. Run the dungeon in-game, get a screenshot of the text, and transcribe that onto the page. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 19:33, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

Based on this comment, are you still doing this? I'll check Sethekk Halls and see. The quotes are as displayed in the in-game text.--SWM2448 00:05, 11 April 2012 (UTC)
What Ikiss says
Now... which version is correct?--SWM2448 00:30, 11 April 2012 (UTC)
Just keep this in mind. I don't want to have to check everything.--SWM2448 20:27, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

Images[]

Didn't know you asked me a question about images, please note, new questions towards someone should be posted our their talk page rather than yours so they'll receive notice of it... now on to why I came here. I see that you're uploading images from wowhead, however, you're uploading the thumbnails from there. If you click on the image a little popup window will appear with a link on it's lower right corner that reads Original. Clicking on that will bring up the full image. This image is preferred. For more information please see WP:IMG and WP:IMP, thank you and keep up the good work. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 05:35, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

When you add an image to an article, if you could please remove the image request, it would be most helpful. Thank you, SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 23:30, 27 September 2011 (UTC)

NPCS[]

Can you please add boilerplating to the new NPCs? It takes very little time and is much better than just a list of abilities with no other information. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 00:18, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

Please start adding {{bp}} to the top of the NPC pages you're making since you're not making them in full... this will help keep track of them for others to complete the pages later on. Thank you, SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 01:22, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
Please add external links and categories too, thanks. TherasTaneel (talk) 22:10, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

Mob stubs[]

Can you make sure to at least put {{Stub/NPC}} at the top of the new mob pages, if you're not going to fill out all the info? -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 02:47, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Ok, I'll add that when I make a new page. Thanks. -- Darksora110 (talk) 2:48, 13 January 2012

Actually {{Stub/Mob}} should be used for mob articles. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 05:43, 18 January 2012 (UTC)
OK, I'll do that for Mobs then. --Darksora110 (talk) 6:03, 18 January 2012.

I have a template for you[]

Since you're doing mass creations, it would be best if others didn't have to follow your work and add everything you're skipping. So to make things easier (which I personally use all the time) I developed and updated User:Coobra/Dom for your use. Try it out, simply copy and paste the template into the articles with the required info and it will do the rest. I even made a spot for you to insert their abilities, all of which you can do with just one edit (the creation edit). Hope you will try to use this, it really does make things easier. Thank you, and keep up the good work. =) SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 06:29, 25 January 2012 (UTC)

OK, this will save me a lot of time. Thanks again. --User talk:Darksora110 10:51, 25 January 2012
Though you were going to try and use this template... SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 05:08, 26 February 2012 (UTC)
I'm remembering to do that for the next time. It will take a few times to get used to. It's easy, but I keep forgetting. I'll get anything published in the future the more I do it. Thanks. --User talk:Darksora110 11:50, 25 February 2012
Well, feel free to finish the articles at boilerplating requests before mass creating any more, since 99% of the category is filled with ones you started. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 04:50, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

Please don't remove the {{bp}} from articles, if they're still missing the categories. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 01:23, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

Sorry. --User talk:Darksora110 7:26, 28 February 2012

I hate to keep bothering you, when your one of the users that actually make additions (several additions) to improve wowpedia. But you make such mass additions that it just draws more attention towards you... you're getting really good at creating NPC/mob articles, but if you can try to remember the categories that would be most helpful. Thank you again, SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 05:52, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

Your Welcome. --User talk:Darksora110 3:08, 19 March 2012

Patch changes[]

First of all, the field is "note" not "notes"; putting "notes" won't display anything. Second, none of these things that you're stating were added in 1.10 were, in fact, added in 1.10. All of them were present when the game first launched. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 00:11, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

Outdated / removed content[]

It's good that you want to improve Wowpedia, but please refrain from removing information about outdated and/or removed content. Categorize it as "removed content", "changed content", etc. instead.

While many websites list information related to World of Warcraft, most of them focus on contemporary events and statistics. This is especially the case for databases which extract information through datamining, such as Wowhead. Wowpedia, on the other hand, is an encyclopedia - its purpose is to collect, sort and present various information related to World of Warcraft (and other related topics, such as other Warcraft-games). As with other encyclopedias, such as Wikipedia, this means that Wowpedia also includes information that is historical - information that describes past events, items, spells, statements in order to provide knowledge about things that once have been, but no longer exist or have changed. This is one of the things that differentiate Wowpedia from most other WoW-websites. Please try to understand this when editing in the future. WrathOfDeathfrost (talk) 20:40, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

Mob health[]

A new template was created to help with all those different health values in raids. For more information see {{Health}}. It will give the NPCboxes a more uniform look and prevent a white wall of text =) SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 05:08, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

RaceIconExt → RaceIcon[]

Please no longer use {{RaceIconExt}} they're in the process of being changed over to {{RaceIcon}}. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 23:50, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

Again, please discontinue using {{RaceIconExt}}. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 02:11, 24 April 2012 (UTC)

Image replacement[]

You should know better than this by now. Don't just remove an image from an article completely, move it down into the gallery or else on the article. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 18:03, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

Patch 2.2.0[]

Just as an FYI, for some reason Wowhead lists most (if not all) of the Burning Crusade content as having been implemented in 2.2.0 instead of 2.0.3. Not sure why this is, just keep in mind that if it says it was added in 2.2.0, it's probably wrong and was actually 2.0.3. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 03:15, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

Alliance leaders table[]

Hello, I've seen that you added more leaders to the table on the Alliance page, such as Aliden Perenolde for Alterac, Tirion Fordring for the Knights of the Silver Hand, Dagran Thaurissan for the Dark Iron dwarves, etc. However, my intention was only to list leaders of these factions when they were members of the Alliance, which is why, for example, the cell marked "Anasterian Sunstrider" for Quel'Thalas stops at Beyond the Dark Portal instead of extending all the way to The Path of the Damned campaign in WC3. I believe that the table with your additions becomes misleading, implying that Dagran Thaurissan or Aliden Perenolde answered to the Alliance. PRH (talk) 20:53, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Oh, I didn't mean to add them so rashly. Sorry. Darksora110 (talk) 4:36, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

An image you uploaded marked for speedy deletion[]

Hello. I have tagged a file you uploaded for speedy deletion.--Rockfang (talk) 01:49, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

I guess it is what it is. Finding a new image to replace?--Darksora110 (talk) 8:50, 31 October 2013
Do you recall where you got the image from?--Rockfang (talk) 01:13, 1 November 2013 (UTC)
www.IMDB.com, there should be a link on her page that leads to it and shows the exact image.--Darksora110 (talk) 11:32, 31 October 2013
I've added a source and license to the image page so it should be good now. I should have contacted you before marking it for deletion. I apologize for that.--Rockfang (talk) 03:36, 3 November 2013 (UTC)
That is no problem.--Darksora110 (talk) 1:14, 3 November 2013

Warlords of Draenor[]

Since Warlords of Draenor is dealing with an alternative timeline, it brings into question on how the articles for characters like Durotan and Gul'dan should be handled. Please see Forum:Warlords of Draenor Characters as we attempt to figure exactly how to handle this. If you have any suggestions feel free to add them. --X59 (talk) 23:55, 9 November 2013 (UTC)

Aberrations[]

Please note, that just because creatures are Oozes, tentacles, fleshbeasts, or faceless onces this does not automatically make them classified as Aberration. Several are still marked as Humanoids, Beasts, Elementals, and some are still Uncategorized. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 03:04, 14 November 2013 (UTC)

Sorry. Darksora110 talk 11:23, 13 November 2013

Mob articles[]

When you create a mob article, don't forget to add [[Category:<zone> mobs]] at the bottom. You should also change {{ss|screenshot}} to {{ss||<zone>}}, as well as adding {{subst:el}} at the start of the "External links" section. --g0urra[T҂C] 19:19, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

This does NOT count when it comes to subzones, such as Dominion Point and Lion's Landing. --g0urra[T҂C] 03:13, 18 January 2014 (UTC)

I knew you were going to say that. I'm Sorry about that. --Darksora110 9:26, 18 January 2014

I completely forgot there's scenarios called Dominion Point and Lion's Landing, so you can disregard that. --g0urra[T҂C] 04:17, 18 January 2014 (UTC)

Game guide lore articles[]

I've reverted a number of your recent edits adding paragraphs from the official site's character lore articles (e.g. Garrosh Hellscream [1]). Generally speaking, Wowpedia articles should not contain verbatim copies of official lore content -- we'd much prefer a brief summary of the relevant points and a reference to the original source; in this case, the edits are also problematic because the copied content essentially duplicates the purpose of the articles' already present introductory paragraphs. — foxlit (talk) 20:44, 2 February 2014 (UTC)

Sorry. - Darksora110 (talk) 2:45, 2 February 2014

Deletion of pages[]

If a page needs to be deleted, do not blank the page. Use the {{delete}} or {{speedydelete}} tag, and use | to give an explanation of why it should be deleted. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 17:53, 11 April 2014 (UTC)

War Crimes character mentions[]

An oblique reference to the sha -- "They were gone, nothing but a memory, although new life—and new hope—had come to the vale once the sha had been truly defeated." doesn't mean we need to call out the 8 sha primes in an already too-detailed list of characters for War Crimes. To be honest, the whole "mentions" section on our book/short story articles seem like way more detailed and nitpicky than needed. --k_d3 18:10, 12 May 2014 (UTC)

At the same time, where's Norushen mentioned? My ebook reader doesn't have a hit for him. --k_d3 18:11, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
As I recall, the "Mentioned" section was a compromise from way back when I complained about characters whose names appeared in the book (usually in contextual references to old events, or lines like "Garrosh, son of Grom Hellscream") being listed as minor characters despite having no part in the story itself. I certainly wouldn't mind revisiting its relevancy. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 18:33, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
Forum:Novel articles touches on this. — foxlit (talk) 23:01, 12 May 2014 (UTC)

Russell Brower musical credits[]

Hi Darksora - I'd be interested if you could provide a reference of some kind for the specific pieces of music you credited Russell Brower for on his page. I've been updating his articles across multiple wikis but haven't yet stumbled across any such specific listings online. I'm particularly interested because his work appears to involve a combination of direction and composition. -- Taohinton (talk) 22:50, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
I have gone into the games database with MPQ Editor and played every single track in the WoW thus far. It shows on each track who composed that track. That's pretty much the trick, nothing special. -- Darksora110 (talk) 8:32, 10 July 2014
OK, thanks. It would probably be best to add some sort of ref (even just "Using MPQ Editor") when adding such things, just so other editors know that the info should be reliable. Uncited and hard to confirm yet very specific info can be a bit of a hazard, and at the least make others doubt its veracity. Adding ref to each line might be a bit much though; maybe a 'Sources' section at the bottom? -- Taohinton (talk) 14:29, 11 July 2014 (UTC)
We can give it a try. -- Darksora110 (talk) 10:50, 11 July 2014

A question[]

Hello, Ive noticed that you recently began reorganizing characters pages. I want to ask (or maybe suggest) why you put some RPG sections right after the history section and after them the other sections (personalities, relationships, etc...). IE (Illidan, Azshara) Wouldnt it better to have the non-canon sections right after all the canon sections? --Mordecay (talk) 09:47, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
I've been seeing many pages that the sections are in a particular order (examples: Lore, to locations, to quests, to RPG's, etc.). Starting to get into the habit that reorganizing character pages to make it like any other character page the same is alot easier to skim through rather than everything is all over the place after lore, locations and quests (my opinion of looking at pages). The cannon and non-cannon I don't care much about since that gets changed overtime (redone by my perspective). --Darksora110 (talk) 08:27, 23 February 2015 (UTC)

Shado-pan daily quotes[]

I don't understand, why removing them? Xporc (talk) 11:01, 8 January 2017 (UTC)
Those specific characters don't say anything. At that time, I was VO's (voiceover) heavy and thought putting them in would be good. In the end, they never said anything. I've done those dailies alot and sadly not everything in the game's database is used for certain occasions. With Legion, I will be putting quotes of the following bodyguards you can have with you at all times and champions that appear for a moment. -- Darksora110 (talk) 9:07, 8 January 2017 (UTC)
Oh, I see. Why not just keep the quotes and mark them as unused, then? Xporc (talk) 15:48, 8 January 2017 (UTC)
Hmm, I could... -- Darksora110 (talk) 9:07, 8 January 2017 (UTC)

Cinematics and songs[]

Why are they the same thing?--SWM2448 03:00, 24 February 2018 (UTC)
I think you meant to say redirected? It is because that it is the track that plays in the cinematics. I am a video game music hunter and I know what the names are and where they play at. Other cases which are music that are prerendered (in-game cinematics) and Blizzard would either have to make it so that it's a track separate from it or leave it for no one to claim. I could go on about this topic but I hope you understand the case. --Darksora110 (talk) 11:01, 23 February 2018 (UTC)

Deepholme[]

Hey. I think you've removed too much dialogs from several NPCs when doing your {{main}} thing. You removed several quotes from High Priestess Lorthuna and Terrath the Steady that are not quoted anywhere. Xporc (talk) 18:46, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
During that time I had that there. But since every character nowadays have a {{main}}, I thought I would revisit pages that needed a revamp. Sadly, there are quotes that were not used to begin with so at this point I'd rather have it forgotten. Just not worth my time keeping up with those little details is all. --Darksora110 (talk) 1:52, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
On second thought, put them under the "unused" sub-section in quotes while you're at it. --Darksora110 (talk) 1:55, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
I did it. --Darksora110 (talk) 2:03, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
Okay, I didn't realized they were unused voice clips. Thanks for fixing it! Xporc (talk) 19:05, 18 April 2018 (UTC)

Thanks to both of you. Darksora, please understood that we try to keep only canon picture in main bodies of text like biography sections and that the big "Before the Storm" text on the cover art wasn't as such really fitting ;) Xporc (talk) 15:25, 13 August 2018 (UTC)
Alright. --Darksora110 (talk) 11:26, 13 August 2018 (UTC)

Quests[]

Hey, noticed you were adding back the "Quest:" namespace back to quest links here. As per the new changes to the NQA policy and the policy change discussion here, all quest are now being moved to the main space, without the Quest: namespace. — SurafbrovWowpedia administrator T / C 15:22, 11 September 2018 (UTC)
I was wondering when that was changed. So now it is straight to the point without the "Quest:"? That makes it easier and remembering that every time a quest is being made was a pain. --Darksora110 (talk) 10:28, 11 September 2018 (UTC)
Yea, it happened a couple days ago. All the quests that were previously with the "Quest:" namespace are just redirects just so external links would still work. Quests that haven't been made don't need the same redirect and can just be created directly in the main space. — SurafbrovWowpedia administrator T / C 15:33, 11 September 2018 (UTC)
Excellent! --Darksora110 (talk) 10:37, 11 September 2018 (UTC)

The Shores of Northrend (WC3 Human) quote[]

Can you tell me where you found this quote? I don't recall ever seeing it in the mission. Was it a quote you found in the game's files that had its trigger turned off? --ShadowShade81413 (talk) 23:56, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
It is a quote from the game's files. I forgot to check that page a long time ago. --Darksora110 (talk) 6:01, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
So it is turned off for some reason? --ShadowShade81413 (talk) 00:02, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
It is an unused file. --Darksora110 (talk) 6:05, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
