Images upload

Hey, could you try to upload your pictures as .jpg rather than .png? They are too big now Xporc (talk) 15:17, 10 June 2017 (UTC)

You also need to make sure you select "Zone" in the list so the pictures are tagged properly.

Yes, i'm terribly sorry! I'll make sure to do that. Do you need me to reupload the ones I already added as .jpg? I didn't upload .jpg in the past because i've been getting an "unknown error" message. --Dperrea (talk) 15:35, 10 June 2017 (UTC)

Don't be sorry! You're starting up, it's normal that you don't know everything ^^ Not sure what to do with the PNG images... It's probably better to reupload your old ones as jpeg and ask an admin to delet the png ones, I think Xporc (talk) 16:47, 10 June 2017 (UTC)

Ok! I've been uploading my most recent images as a .jpg and adding the tag. I think i'm doing everything correctly :) this is my most recent upload https://wow.gamepedia.com/File:Thas%27talah_Basin.jpg is everything in order?--Dperrea (talk) 17:00, 10 June 2017 (UTC)

It is, don't worry! Xporc (talk) 18:28, 10 June 2017 (UTC)

Hey man! Thanks for your continued work. I often see you updating your picture, manually adding the ((licensing|zone}} thing... But you can do it before even the upload, by selecting "Screenshot of a zone" in the list. Cheers! Xporc (talk) 15:55, 29 June 2017 (UTC)

Hey! I appreciate the gratitude! Sorry I have been absent recently, i'm trying to get my Eagle Scout project done haha. Also I noticed you mentioned the picture zone thing in an earlier comment, i've looked for a list but I can't seem to find one. Oh well i'll look more carefully next time I upload a picture.--Dperrea (talk) 17:31, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
Hey! Nice to see more people into the screenshot-taking business! I might replace a few of those png files with jpgs when I get around to it. You might like the Inv misc spyglass 01 [Ornate Spyglass] for screenshots, but maybe you're already familiar with that one :) PeterWind (talk) 16:02, 30 June 2017 (UTC)
Yeah I love taking screenshots haha. And sorry about the png files, I mostly uploaded those when I was starting off. Also I never heard of that spyglass, it will probably be helpful when taking photos of mobs hehe (so hard). I'll see if one's in the auction house!--Dperrea (talk) 16:17, 30 June 2017 (UTC)
Hehe don't worry! As a druid I have the benefit of stealth, but in other cases the spyglass can really come in handy. Luckily the mats are cheap and the recipe is taught by trainers, so any engineer should be able to help you out if it isn't on the auction house. PeterWind (talk) 14:29, 1 July 2017 (UTC)
Hey one small tip, a thing that I do, I sometimes take screenshots in no fly zones with my Demon Hunter because he has double jump, and you can get much higher perspectives than usual.--Dperrea (talk) 14:38, 1 July 2017 (UTC)
True! Demon hunters are great for exploring and for taking scenic screenshots! PeterWind (talk) 15:48, 1 July 2017 (UTC)

Subzones

I just want to thank you for working on these articles, minus a few created here and there by other users, I felt like the only one that was doing them. Keep up the great work. :) SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 18:05, 12 June 2017 (UTC)

Same. Thanks. I mean it. Good job.--SWM2448 18:18, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
You're welcome guys!^^ I love doing these pages! It's so much fun to run around and take pictures and do research on them. It's really satisfying being able to complete entire pages and find out information that not many people know. Especially information stated in class specific quests, like Ashamane's Fall. I'm going to finish all the locations in Val'sharah that need creation or polishing, then move on to the next zone! Also I know i'm brand new to this so there are a few mistakes here and there like accidentally uploading 3 pictures for Starsong Refuge lol, I hope you don't mind :) I think i'm getting the hang of it pretty quickly!--Dperrea (talk) 18:23, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
I'll join the thanks as well! Xporc (talk) 19:09, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
And my axe! -- MyMindWontQuiet (talk) 22:15, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
I know right, I loved finding out little details and such like that for the subzones. I haven't been doing much in creating new ones or going back and finishing up ones I started cause I haven't been playing WoW as much right now, but its nice to see someone picking up the task. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 20:06, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
Yeah it's great to have new pasionate editors among us! :) PeterWind (talk) 20:47, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
Awh well thank you! It means alot to me :) I'll keep up the good work!--Dperrea (talk) 21:07, 12 June 2017 (UTC)

Wowpedia:Image guidelines might answer a few of your questions.--SWM2448 05:36, 16 June 2017 (UTC)

Subzone standards

You have been doing some work on subzones. I started a discussion about the overall standards for them at Forum:Subzones and policy.--SWM2448 21:02, 30 June 2017 (UTC)

Mobs and categories

Hey! Truly appreciate the work you're doing these days on creating new mobs and pages, but please don't forget to tag each page with the proper categories, like the race of the mob and the zone it appears in! Xporc (talk) 07:33, 4 July 2017 (UTC)

I'll make sure to do that next time! Thank you for reminding me haha, there's so much to keep track off on these pages sometimes C: --Dperrea (talk) 08:29, 4 July 2017 (UTC)
Don't worry you're doing an almost perfect job, much better than me when I started. If sometimes you feel unsure about a page being 100% done or not, you can also leave a "Stub/NPC" or "Stub/Mob" header, that way someone will eventually check it later. Xporc (talk) 08:33, 4 July 2017 (UTC)
Another few pointers: we usually write the races of mobs/NPCs in lower case in the description parts. You can also add an "s" or any letter actually, immediately after the ending brackets like this: humans. PeterWind (talk) 10:23, 4 July 2017 (UTC)
Ok! Thanks for the clarification! I was curious if like the very first words in bold, would you just put an "s" at the end if there alot of them, like: Drunk Gnolls are gnolls found in Tanaris. They are part of the Squiffy Tribe.--Even though the page title is "Drunk Gnoll"? --Dperrea (talk) 10:46, 4 July 2017 (UTC)
Yes Xporc (talk) 12:37, 4 July 2017 (UTC)
Another ones: When adding the References section, it is written in plural even when there is only one source. Also u are adding extra spaces in infoboxes? That is not needed. Otherwise, keep up the good work! --Mordecay (talk) 11:46, 4 July 2017 (UTC)

Hello! Another thing to remember when creating NPC pages: with Legion NPCs, some abilities you can see on wowhead are not true abilities they can use against you, they are merely game mechanics related to the new artifact weapons. For example I removed the Fangs of Ashamane ability from the musken pages you created. Xporc (talk) 11:06, 13 July 2017 (UTC)

Hey! Yeah I wasn't sure if I should have added those or not because I didn't see them when I was actually fighting the mobs. I also know that some Legion mobs gain buffs and abilities when more people join the fight, should I add those too?--Dperrea (talk) 12:33, 13 July 2017 (UTC)
Oh, I didn't knew that. Do you have an example? :o Xporc (talk) 13:31, 13 July 2017 (UTC)
