Wildhammer Stronghold is an Alliance town in the Shadowmoon Valley of Outland.^{[36, 56]} As its name implies, it was founded by its current thane Kurdran Wildhammer, one of the survivors of the original Alliance Expedition, shortly before the destruction of Draenor. The stables of Wildhammer Stronghold is also one location of the Alliance's gryphon riding trainers and gryphon breeders for those seeking flying mounts.

The dwarven keep was built over sacred, ancestral ground to the Shadowmoon clan, and the spirits of departed Shadowmoon orcs haunt the land. Warlords of Draenor reveals that the area was once home to Anguish Fortress and the Shadowmoon Burial Grounds, or Shaz'gul.

In the Twin Peaks battleground, an unrelated area called the Wildhammer Stronghold serves as the Alliance starting point.
