XR9-47 is a mechagnome located at Tomb of the Old Kings in Stormheim.

He later appears at Trueshot Lodge in Highmountain, in order to take delivery of parts from the Huntmaster for Mimiron's latest invention.

History

Ages ago, XR9-47 was apparently assigned to the lab of his creator, Mimiron.[1] However, a vrykul named Volund, searching for the powerful mechanisms and weapons crafted by the keepers, infiltrated the lab and kidnapped the defenseless mechagnome. He forced XR9-47 to reveal information about Mimiron's creations, including Inv firearm 2h artifactlegion d 01 [Titanstrike] and its location. Eventually Volund brought his captive along with him to Stormheim.

Many years later before his death, Volund ordered the enslaved XR9-47 alongside his few remaining vrykul followers to bury him alongside Titanstrike in the Tomb of the Old Kings.[2] At some point after that, XR9-47 became physically incapacitated and inactive.

Millennia later, Grif Wildheart, helping a hunter adventurer in finding Titanstrike, successfully reactivated the mechagnome to the point that XR9-47 was able to reboot his systems.[1] When the vrykul Prustaga revealed her treachery and made off with Titanstrike, Mimiron was able to download XR9-47's memory to his core processing systems at the Spark of Imagination in Ulduar to figure out the rifle's location.[3]
