[10-70] This version of A Trip to the Dark Portal is part of the Shattrath Children's Week quest chain for the Horde.
All three of [10-70] Hch'uu and the Mushroom People, A Trip to the Dark Portal and [10-70] Visit the Throne of the Elements must be completed before the next pair of quests is offered.
Objectives[]
Take your orphan, Salandria, up the steps of the Stair of Destiny to stand before the Dark Portal in Hellfire Peninsula. Make sure to call for her if she is not present when you arrive.

How can we look at all of these interesting places and not see the Dark Portal?!
The grown-ups are always trying to tell us scary stories about it and how it's so dangerous, with lots of demons, and stuff.
<Salandria rolls her eyes.>
But you're here, so it can't be too bad, right?
I want to see for myself. You remember where it is on the east edge of Hellfire Peninsula?

Notes[]
With your orphan summoned, go to the Dark Portal. Wait for a Horde Soldier to spawn. One soldier spawns for each orphan, so during peak times during Children's Week, it may take several minutes for a soldier to spawn for your particular orphan. When the soldier spawns:
- Blood Elf Orphan says: Whoa, no way!
- Salandria stands and gapes in awe at the immense Dark Portal.
- Horde Soldier says: For the younglings! For the Horde! (Orcish: Kil mog kazum'nobu Kil mog Ro'th)
Once this occurs, she will run towards the stairs and stop at (88,50), just in front of the stairs. At this point, you will complete the quest objective and you can talk to your orphan to complete the quest.
